6:00 am alarm goes off, snooze till at least 6:30. Roll out of bed. Drink some coffee, eat breakfast, read the Bible. 7:45 get dressed for work….put on two shirts, two pairs of pants, three pairs of wool socks. 7:50, climb into my work pants/overalls, strap on my enormous boots and slip into my large coat. 8:00am wait outside our house for our Estonian lumberjack friends to arrive. Gather our hard-hats, axes, chainsaws, and gasoline. 8:10 start walking to the woods. 8:20 restart the bonfires, fire up the chainsaws and begin chopping down trees, move 3m or 5m long logs into piles, throw branches into the bonfire. 10:00am Margus gives the signal and we take a 10 minute break. 10:10 start again. 12:00 stop and head to lunch. 12:15 read a passage from the Bible, in Estonian, Russian, and then English, pray. Eat (always some sort of soup consisting of hotdogs) as fast as you can so you can walk back and get at least 10 minutes to flop and lay down. 12:50 Estonian friends arrive, gather in circle for prayer. Walk to the woods and start again. 3:00pm break, this time we get tea and cookies, who would have thought lumberjacks and tea parties would go so nicely. 3:15 start cutting down trees again. 5:00pm days end, gather again for prayer circle, thank God for no major injuries (only a few eyebrows, eyelashes, hair, or pant burns and several close calls for getting hit by a tree, a few branches to the face or nearly getting an arm chopped off by a chainsaw and tripping on either a branch or our ridiculously large boots a lot). 5:10 head to dinner. 5:30 read passage from the Bible, in all three languages, pray, eat (maybe pasta, probably cabbage with hotdogs and always pastries). 6:15 walk home. 6:30 take off boots, all three pairs of socks, work pants and large jacket. Go into bedroom collapse on the bed. 7:00 team time and feedback. 8:00 shower. 8:30 or 9:00 lay down. Talk to Mandi for at least ½ an hour, fall asleep and do it again tomorrow.
