*During the World Race Application Process*

**Two Months after I First Started the Application with Only One Question Answered**

Joshua 18: 3 “So Joshua said to the Israelites: ‘How long will you wait before you begin to take possession of the land that the Lord, the God of your fathers, has given you?”

The seven tribes were procrastinating taking their inherited land. By not owning land they had no work to tend to. They had also been a nomadic people their entire life and had never known what it was like to take care of their own land. Additionally, they were used to conquering other lands to have resources. They weren’t used to working for what they wanted. They also felt comfortable and content in their current condition. Still, they didn’t know what it would be like to have their inheritance.

The same way the tribes put off possessing lands, we too often put off certain tasks. Some things may seem large, difficult, boring, scary, or disagreeable. We may have fear of the future or unsure about what steps to take next. In this time, take it up to God. He is the only one who knows the future and he wants to help you. He wants to provide you with guidance on what steps to take; what to say and what to do. It is the Devil who tempts you to procrastinate. He whispers that it’s too hard or that you aren’t good enough. God is the one who says that with him you are more than qualified. You were made perfectly in his image and he has equipped you with all of the tools to tackle your battles. He will never give you more than you can handle. Do not procrastinate too long. Don’t procrastinate to the point that you lose the opportunity to expand God’s kingdom. What is it right now that you have been putting off? Why? What is more important than completing this task? When we procrastinate the tasks God gives to us then it shows a lack of discipline and obedience. When you are tempted to procrastinate, pray for God’s help and encouragement. Pray for his strength to help you complete the task; the discernment to know when and how to do the task; and the guidance to accomplish it according to his glory.

The tribes were procrastinating their inheritance. They were procrastinating receiving a land flowing with milk and honey. They weren’t procrastinating something bad. God had a hopeful future for them. What is it that you may be missing out on?

***Throughout this entire devotion, God was revealing to me that my procrastination and fear during the application process was a sign of disobedience. My fear of not being accepted to the World Race put pressure on me to word my application “perfectly”. But the truth is, I could have worded it horribly and it wouldn’t have made a difference because if it is God’s will for me to go on the World Race then He would make it work. I needed to be obedient to Him and let Him help me write the words. Thanks to God revealing this to me, I decided to stop disobeying and completed my application one week later.***
