Our team was unable to make it back to Tacloban after debrief because of the typhoon, bus strikes, and terrorist attacks. However, we still made the most of our extended stay in Manila by going to Smokey Mountain. It is an old trash dump that is now occupied by squatters. A local church was able to build a preschool on the dump where we served food to the families. So far, it has been my favorite day of the race. Check it out by watching the video below.
