37. Jesus provides a miraculous catch of fish
– Luke 5:1-11
Luke 5: 4-6 “When he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, ‘Put out into deep water, and let down the nets for a catch.’ Simon answered, ‘Master, we’ve worked hard all night and haven’t caught anything. But because you say so, I will let down the nets.’ When they had done so, they caught such a large number of fish that their nets began to break.”
God gladly does the impossible for those who love and serve him. God has zero boundaries. There is no limit on his power or authority. He can open windows where there are walls. God’s instructions to us may seem crazy at times. Our minds are finite and can’t comprehend all that he is capable of doing. Have faith and obey God. The more you follow and obey him, the more windows you will find him opening. Have faith that God can perform miracles; really believe it from the bottom of your heart. The disciples saw Jesus heal and cast out demons. They knew that God was powerful but they were still hesitant with their nets. But, God has power to bring fish to a lake that may seem barren. What problems are you currently facing? Do you believe that God has the power to overcome it? He does. So, why don’t you ask him for help?
Luke 5: 10 “Then Jesus said to Simon, ‘Don’t be afriad; from not on you will catch men.”
Yes, God is powerful. But, don’t be afraid of him. More so, don’t be afraid of his power. As believers, he has instilled within us the same power to do his work. The Holy Spirit is living and dwelling within you. God has chosen us to continue his work here on earth. Therefore, let God use you to be his hands and feet on earth.
