As I started packing up some things, preparing to say goodbye to Spain, I went through my huge stack of photos I had brought with me. Not coincidentally, most of those fifty plus photos are from the race last year. And as I went through picture by picture, I was just blown away by the incredible life I’ve lived the last two years.

I went from having a “normal” job and life in Miami to traveling the world for 11 months to living in Spain the last six months to now going back out to squad lead in January!

How does this happen? Who lives this kind of life? And why is it happening to me?

And all I have to answer those questions with is because I said yes. I’ve been coming to the conclusion that God gives us a lot of control over our lives, much more than most people think. And he very simply asks us most times, “What do you want to do?”

When a good friend of mine sent me the link for the World Race over two years ago, I knew almost instantly it was for me. When I first heard about G42 back in January, I had that same instant feeling that I needed to go. But for some reason, it took me a little longer to convince myself that I truly wanted to squad lead. I thought about it sporadically throughout my race but always pushed those thoughts away, saving them for later.

So back in May when the thoughts came pouring in about reconsidering squad leading, I felt like God asked me if I wanted to do it. And I finally could say with confidence that I really wanted to.

You see, it’s better to ask God for a blessing before making a final decision, than to go back to him and ask to bless something you’ve already started. He wants to be involved in every aspect of our lives and he wants us to want to ask him for direction.

So with just a little over a month til training camp, it’s finally starting to hit me that I’m really leaving again in January to travel to five different countries for five months. I am so unbelievably excited to love on my future squad and I don’t even know who they are yet!

Please pray for my future squad and co-leaders, ending my time here in Spain fully invested, and for my fund-raising for squad leading. I need to raise $3500 for five months of leading and would love for my past supporters and new ones to continue along with me on this new adventure.
