These are some favourite moments with some favourite people of mine. Also, a picture into the beautifully unique dynamic of our team.

Jo

  1. Guatemala – Her teaching me soccer ball-control tricks
  2. Honduras – Establishing a one-sided relationship for her with a high, homeless guy in La Kennedy
  3. Nicaragua – Her trying to teach me to surf

Jeanette

  1. Guat – When she held my hand walking through neighbourhood because I had chest pain
  2. Hond – Her and I had our one-on-one time on the roof
  3. Nica (debrief) – Discovering her love for swimming and the penny-searching pool game
  4. Nica – Super feedback* when she declared her extensive love for me

Jordan

  1. Guat – Our first real conversations about what matters most to her
  2. Hond – Hearing her testimony – so raw, so genuine
  3. Hond HOC* – Being sprawled out over her lap while being driven to the hospital
  4. Nica – Her praying for me and encouraging me while I preached on the fly to non-believers, in Spanish

Kate

  1. Guat – Crying when she read me the letter from my sister
  2. Hond – Her accidentally flashing us while adjusting her skirt
  3. Nica (debrief) – Our breakfast date at Waffle House (with Jo – what a 3rd wheel!)

Cheyenne

  1. Guat – Throwing things at Michelle through the bathroom window, hiding and giggling even though she knew it was us
  2. Hond HOC – Hearing her give her testimony in front of a group, with zero warning
  3. Nica – Learning/teaching guitar

Michelle

  1. Guat – Late-night dance party in field to Jesse McCartney
  2. Hond HOC – Her walking me to/from house for injection
  3. Nica (debrief) – Sitting with me post-cry & prayer, comforting me with her silent presence (until our back could no longer endure that awful bench!)
  4. Nica – Singing with me on the back of the garbage truck

Ministry moments

  1. Guat – Praying over Pastor Brody (first time praying in Spanish over a Spanish-speaker)
  2. Hond – Taking Wilder and Kena to Wendy's
  3. Hond HOC – Singing baby Genesis to sleep
  4. Nica – Impromptu worship leading at church services

Bonus Canada round

  1. Jeanette – Legitimately learning O Canada (the first bit, so far)
  2. Michelle – your face when I told you we call it "zed"
  3. Jo – "Does Canada have its own queen?"
  4. Who? – "So, is Canada a democracy?"
