Tim and Lisa Wright are two incredible people.

They voluntarily took on 56 squad children, studied our names and faces before training camp, and have read near every blog since. They have come to training camp in Georgia, launch in Atlanta, week 1 in Guatemala, months 1&2 debrief in Nicaragua, and months 3&4 debrief in Thailand. Each time they come their love for us is more visible on their faces. They truly love us like their own children.

Lisa is also overflowing with wisdom and messages from God for each of us. Her desire to hug and pray over every one of us for whatever situation or struggle is overwhelming. She has a mother’s heart that covers each one of us without stretching.

And Tim, whom I have had the pleasure of connecting with moreso than Lisa, is as pure loving as a man can be. I am so blessed to be on the receiving end of his tender words, heartfelt prayers, and wise instruction. Every time I talk to him 1-on-1 I feel so valued I could cry and so powerful I could climb a mountain, both at the same time.

This ordinary couple who have been assigned to our squad by Adventures in Missions loves us so incredibly well, it’s astounding. Really, they loved us before they knew us. Before they knew what we were like, or knew all our flaws. And what’s really astounding is now that they know us, they still love us!

Now think:
How much more does God know me? Yet He still loves me!
And how much more does he love me? And how perfect is that love!

Though Tim and Lisa are sweet and caring people, they are still imperfect people-they can’t offer a perfect love. But with the power of the Spirit they can reflect the Father’s perfect love onto us, and live as a reminder of how big His love is for us. Or you might say they have borrowed this love from Christ.

Because they know better than most the meaning of Ephesians 3:18:

And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is.

To Tim and Lisa, thank you for your devotion to our squad, to me personally and to prayer on our behalf. Thank you that upon understanding this love, you have chosen to spread and share it with others. You are cherished, you are loved.
