This month I spent the first few weeks in Kitwe with the women of my team and the women of another coed team as our guys got together with all of the guys on the squad to do ministry together for Manistry month. While in Kitwe, my team worked with an organization known as Jessica’s Kids Foundation and during the week we would go out into local villages to sing songs, dance, play, and share Bible stories with the kids. Our host, Jessica, let my team stay in the guesthouse in her backyard and I became close to her nephews and niece. I will definitely keep them in my heart as I continue with my race. I will miss watching movies with them and playing with the kids and I will miss talking about the future with Jessica’s oldest nephew Aubrey.

Halfway through the month my team was moved to Livingstone to do ministry with J-Zone. While in Livingstone, my team has done Bible studies with widows, worked with the Awana program here in town, done door to door evangelism, and more. On our off days my team was lucky enough to go see one of the seven wonders of the world-Victoria Falls. The falls are indescribably beautiful. Not only did I get to see Victoria Falls, but I got to bungee jump off the bridge and do a canyon swing and zip line. I was utterly exhausted by the end of the day but the exhaustion was worth it. The next day my team went on a safari in Botswana. We saw many elephants, giraffes, hippos, and water buffalo. Unfortunately, we didn’t see a lion but I’m making it my own personal goal to see a lion before I leave Africa.

So, this month I feel like God has been relatively quiet during my time with Him. I know He is teaching me about wisdom this month and something that He really keeps pushing on me is learning to lean on His understanding instead of my own, but it’s been difficult this month feeling like I’m not hearing from Him and that my time with Him hasn’t been quality time. I’m also learning a lot about perseverance.

I leave Zambia in a few days and head into my last month in Africa very soon. I will be in the middle of nowhere, pretty far away from civilization, and I’m trusting that God is going to do awesome things for me and my team next month. I’m hoping I get everything I can out of Africa and that I leave behind anything that needs left behind before entering the last continent of my race. God has done so much for me these last 6 months and I know He has much more in store for me in the future.

P.S. Thank you to everyone who has supported me financially and through prayer. I have 5 months left so please continue to pray for me and pray that I can grow with the Lord every day. Thank you!
