Okay, I know. I’ve been slacking again on my blogging duties. I promise I’m still alive and I have some important news too. Some of you already know this, but for the rest of you, here it goes. I originally signed up for the September 2014 Route 4 race, but due to some new developments I’ve decided to switch to the January 2015 Route 2 race. Yes, you heard right! I’m going to be around for a bit longer. How come? Well, as it turns out the World Race has been working for seven years now to try and film a documentary of one of the routes and it is finally official. They have teamed up with Gray Media to film a documentary/TV show of the September 2014 Route 4 race.

Although I think the documentary is a truly amazing opportunity to reach a whole new generation of racers and to show the world how awesome God is, I’m camera shy. I tend to shut down when I know all eyes are on me and, while I know that the social butterflies of K Squad will rise to the occasion and rock the documentary at its core, I know I won’t be able to open up like I need to. There is a big difference between opening up to my team and squad and opening up to millions of viewers. The good thing about switching to a January 2015 route is that not only do I have more time to fundraise, but I will also be home for my nephew’s birth in September!

With that being said, my route has naturally changed. Fortunately for me, there was a January route very similar to the September route. Here is the list of the countries that I will be visiting: Philippines, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Malawi, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Ireland, Bulgaria, Moldova, and Romania. And to shake things up a bit more, my new route comes with a new set of deadlines. I have edited Ways to Donate to reflect the new deadlines at the bottom of the post, but I will list them here as well.

                                               1st Deadline: $3,500 – To be Determined

                                               2nd Deadline: $7,500 – Due December 18th, 2014

                                               3rd Deadline: $11,000 – Due April 1st, 2015

                                               4th Deadline: $16,254 – Due July 1st, 2015

I’m very excited about this adventure and I hope you are too. If you are feeling called to donate then please do so. I promise you won’t regret it. Every little bit helps. Try to think of it this way. Your money isn’t for me. You aren’t donating so that I can travel the world and have the time of my life. It’s not about me at all. It’s about serving people who are less fortunate and loving them beyond measure and giving them hope that lifts them up during their darkest times. I want to be the shoulders that these people stand on so they can be that much closer to God, and you can help me be that for them. I want to show them what faith looks like and the peace and joy that it brings.

I know people view God in many different ways, but I want to show the world a God that is kind, merciful, giving, and loving. That’s who God is to me. I ask a lot of questions when it comes to God, but I can sum Him up in one simple statement: God is love. That’s all I need to know and I want to share that with the world. Will you help me do that?
