Hola Amigos!
It has been awhile since I have posted a blog a lot has been happening on the field and honestly it has been hard to put into words. So to help do this I will be posting a blog series titled “Unfinished” over the next few weeks. The post will be blogs I started but never finished until now. This series will include what ministry was like in Costa Rica, How all squad month was for me as well as various other topics.
To start off this series I want to post about my team Löwin Warriors.
HERE
WE
GO
So the way the World Race is set up is like so
Squad Mentor*
(1 Person at the base in Gainesville, GA. Our person is Alissa)
Squad Leaders*
( 3-4 Alumni Racers. Ours are Amanda, Carly, Taylor, and Jon.)
Squad
(21 Racers. We all filled out the app, went to training camp, fundraised, and are on the field)
Team*
(Group of 5 – 6 from the squad that work in ministry together)
*There are so many things attached to each role but this is the overview
So when my SQUAD launched in January we had 4 TEAMS (Half n Half, The Americanos, Sweet n Low, and Löwin Warriors). My team was Löwin (Swiss German for Lioness) Warriors.
Löwin Warriors consisted of Emalea, Chelsea, Megan, Debora, and myself. This team for me was and still is safety, understanding, compassion, trust, and love. We all have so much to bring to the table and bring it so differently.
This post is my post to explain each person to you.
Emalea is our fearless leader! She leads in a way that is so strong and calm. See leadership was something that God had been calling her into an I am thankful that God saw fit to allow me the opportunity to follow she an amazing woman. Emalea is from Canada, Nova Scotia, Halifax. She is the most interesting person I know she has an amazing wealth of knowledge and loooooooves animals. Emalea has shown me what grace and gentleness looks like together. She is bold and a fighter for unity and understanding. She has a voice that shifts perspectives and a look in the world that allows for growth. She is a phenomenal woman who has shown me so much patience and grace in the moments when I know I have not given her a reason to.
Chelsea! Chelsea is truly Proverbs 20:5 “The purpose in a man’s heart is like deep water, but a man of understanding will draw it out”. She truly draws it understanding out of me. I love the deep conversations that we have. I love the laughter that she shares. She has RJF (Resting Joy Face) and it brightens up my day. Chelsea is truly a safe place for me. She listens intently and doesn’t just give advice but truth. Her vulnerability when given is so inspiring and life given. I love her teacher voice and her desire to make sure people are heard. I love hearing her say “Your voice matters”. I love how we get and see each other.
Debora! Debora is my Swiss sister! I love how Debora fights for community! She is bold and intentional 100%. I love that she gives insight and perspective. She seeks individuals out and shares her heart. The times when I shut out my team she was diligent in pursuing me and just being an example of Proverbs 17:17 “A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversity”. Hints she is my Swiss sister. Debora has a way of calling people higher (WR word) in boldness and understanding. I believe that we share the same brain because she usually says the things I am thinking. She serves selflessly and with her heart. Debora is a force to be reckoned with tied to love.
Megan! Where do start with this fireball. Megan is fierce and loving. Fun fact we butted heads at training camp and mutual decided that we would not like each other. I love how God has used her to show me that I can overcome my own personal judgements. Megan is one of the most selfless people I have met. She shares and brings unity in a way that is authentic. When Look at her all I see is freedom, boldness, and a fighter. She dives in vulnerability in a way that I have never seen but its so encouraging. She is a safe place because she holds and nurtures the precious things people trust her with. Megan is my bootylicious sister!
Löwin Warriors was the team I needed in month one, two, three and definitely a team I never knew I needed. WE are truly Lioness Warriors because we are a team of women that could be overlooked and have had moments in our lives where we were however we are Warriors. We are the women who will seek after the things that need to be taken down and it will be done unsuspectingly because while others are looking at the Lion we are attacking because we are not the distraction we are the action. Löwin Warriors I love that we bring life into situations and that we do that for each other.
Financial Update I am currently $1,500 away from the $13,000 goal. I have until March 31st to meet this goal.
