Greetings, all! As an update, I am one-third of the way to my fundraising goal! I am so thankful for the generosity of family and friends who have responded to my letters and am overwhelmed by the support. I specifically want to thank my mom, Denise Austin, who has been selling items on ebay.com with all the proceeds going to the World Race. You can look up her items, listed under the seller name 4good4good. She also hosted a yard sale this past weekend to raise additional money for the trip. Thanks, mom!
In other news, I will be graduating from my counseling program this Friday, and more preparations for the race will ensue shortly thereafter. For those of you who did not know, I switched from a July route to a September route. This decision allows me a bit more time to prepare and rest before the race as well as spend time with the wonderful people I’ve come to know in Nashville over the past two years. The new route also provides for substantial time in Latin America, a region I am passionate about. The countries I will now be visiting are: Zimbabwe/Botswana, Swaziland, South Africa, India, Philippines, China, Moldova, Ukraine, Honduras, Nicaragua, and Costa Rica/Panama. If you’ve visited any of these areas, please let me know. I’d love to hear your stories!
