ok, so I know it's been an inexusable amount of time since my last blog. SORRY! This one will hopefully serve to update everyone. So here goes:
I found out I launch from JFK in NYC on July 11th. I am flying up to Philly on the 9th where Ashley is meeting me at the airport and Emily is coming to pick us both up. We are going to get a group together and go into NYC that night. I will hopefully get to see a couple of my Twi-hard friends who live in the Bronx.
I am excited but nervous to leave. It seems kinda surreal. I am still short on money right now, but I've learned that pledges count. So that means, I will be contacting all of my supporters to see if you would consider continuing to donate for the entire 11 mths I am gone. If you are pledging $100/mth, that $1100 counts toward my total. My goal is to be fully-funded by the time I leave. I know that seems impossible but I serve a God that completes impossible tasks on an hourly basis. I plan to write a blog in the near future about the truths God revealed to me at trainging camp, but I will give you a sneak peak now: God told me he was going to take care of it! So I am clinging to that promise.
If you are currently donating money (or I think you might start), expect some form of communication from me this coming week or the next. If you are not currently supporting me, please consider doing so. I don't care if you can only give $5/mth, it makes a difference. If you are going to support me and you know it, let me know so I can write you down on my donor sheet that I have to turn in. If you think you are one of the people I will be contacting soon and cannot support me, send me an email ([email protected]). You will not hurt my feelings, I just need to know.
ALSO, fundraiser updates: I did 2 yard sales and raked in about $750! We are having movie night at church on Fri. July 1st and we are doing a car wash at Advanced Auto Parts in Dickson on July 2nd from 10-3. I need people to help me wash cars. I also need cars to wash so spread the word!
Since I last blogged, I had my birthday. I am now officially 24. Yay me!
OK so on to the more serious part of my update: My family is being attacked physically. I found out one family member has a tumor in the middle of their brain that is growing and I found out another one's cancer has come back for a 3rd time. Obviously, the devil wants me to reconsider leaving! Please pray absolute healing on both of these people.
