“And he took the bread, gave thanks, and broke it, and gave it to them…”(Luke 22:19)…..In the original language, “he gave thanks” reads “eucharisteo.”………….The root word of eucharisteo is charis, meaning “grace.” Jesus took the bread and saw it as grace and gave thanks. He took the bread and knew it to be gift and gave thanks….But there is more, and I read it. Eucharisteo, thanksgiving, envelopes the Greek word for grace, charis. But is also holds its derivative, the Greek word chara, meaning “joy.”  — from One Thousand Gifts by Ann Voskamp

Eucharistia is the present, ongoing version of the word. It is also the name of my team. Always in the Bible, Jesus gave thanks before performing miracles. We want to be continually grateful for everything God does to and through us. We do not want to give thanks out of obligation; we want it to be reflected in every part of our lives and our ministry. Every one on my team (myself included) has so much for which to be thankful. We want to share our blessings with the world. That's why we are going.

There is just one small obstacle between us and going: our support accounts. We all have money to raise. We all want to be fully funded by the time we leave in July. If we aren't, then we have to have someone here to be in charge of fundraising and we have to fundraise from the field. None of us want that distraction. We want to be able to fully focus on our ministry. I personally need $12,000. I know how impossible that sounds, but don't forget that we serve the God of the Red Sea, the God that stopped time, and the God that raises the dead. $12,000 should be a piece of cake; however, you have to allow yourselves to be used. Not only so we need financial support, we also need a whole lot of prayer support.

I have an indoor yard/bake sale this weekend (fri and sat) from 8-4. If you can donate items to sell (including food) please let me know. I need as much as possible. If not, come out and buy stuff!! Tell your friends! ALSO, the movie night has been moved to the 11th, not the 10th. Please come out and supprt my trip!
