It´s been a while since my last update, so let me try to catch you all up on what´s been going on.

We wrapped up our time in Costa Rica with a Child Sponcership.  School is free here, but many kids still need school supplies, uniforms, etc., to be able to attend school, but many of the families in the neighborhoods we were involved in just cannot afford those things for their children.  There is a child sponcership program that has come alongside to provide the basic needs for these children to get an education.

This experience was really fulfilling to me, because I have seen many child sponcership programs back in the States,  but now I get to be on the other side of it.  I got to be the person packing the backpacks full of school supplies that these children would need for an education to better their lives, their community, etc.  I got to be one of the people that took pictures of the children as they came through.  These pictures are the very photographs that sponcers back in the States will recieve when they get updates, but even better, we got to give these photographs to the parents as well—these are some of the only photos of their children that these parents will ever have.  And I got to be a part of the team that made sure that every family that walked through the church doors to get these supplies was covered in prayer.  We would sit down with the families, ask if there was anything the needed prayer for, pray over them—really just letting the Holy Spirit lead us in prayer as we were praying through a language barrier, but God is the one who searches their heart and knows there need—and even sometimes got to present the Gospel to them.

Praying for people through the language barrier really helped me listen to the Spirit more as I pray.  When there no longer is any fear of man there, wondering what people might thing about your prayer, and when sometimes it´s hard to communicate to understand what they need, it becomes much easier to just listen to the Spirit of God.  It´s just a matter of letting the Spirit of God seach through all things.  There have even been times where I was praying for people, having no clue what the situation of the person was that I was praying for, and after I was done, the translator who knew that family said that what I was praying what right on with the situation of the family.  After all, Scripture says that the Spirit seaches the heart and mind of God, revealing the mysteries of His truth to us.  So how much more can the Holy Spirit guide us in how to pray for others!
