On January 7
I will be flying out of Chicago to Washington DC.
There, I will meet up with my my Squad and the other three squads who are also launching at this time.
We will have a few more days of fellowship and training before departing for my first country — Costa Rica!!!

My team (Team “Ride Abide,” coined from John 15) along with 3 other teams (Team BTXKoinonia, and Agape 13:13) will be in Alajuelita, Costa Rica, partnering with
6:8 Ministries.

Ministry Vision:
6:8 Ministries is a non-profit, non-denominational missions organization that exists to strengthen and expand the kingdom of God. We strive to accomplish this through offering affordable, life-changing, mission experiences to Costa Rica, as well as ongoing local ministries.

Ministry Summary:
In January, we have a large sponsorship program that we are doing.  This will include a lot of one on one ministry in barios that we need to do.  We can also offer a lot of children’s ministry as well as a feeding center 6 days of each week that we need help with.  They could help serve, cook and even prep at each of those feeding centers.  Our local church could use help every Saturday with the youth group and with the children’s ministry as well every Sunday.

This is a little taste of info as to what our first month from launch will look like.

The other teams have received unique locations and ministry assignments as well. Some of them are hours away from where we will be located at in Alajuelita…I don’t have all the details, but I’m sure some of them would be more than happy to share if you’re curious.
