All I’ve seen this month is doors.
Doors, doors, doors.
Doors opening up left and right about missionaries and organizations to contact here in El Salvador.
Doors that the Lord continues to provide, we just have to be courageous and bold to step through them.
Earlier this week I had the chance to grab lunch with Mike and Brittany Peterson, a missionary couple who just moved to El Salvador full time a month ago. They have been coming to this country for the last 7 years as a vacation destination, and in their time here noticed a need in the missionaries they talked to. They liked to invite missionaries to come down and stay with them on the beach, and they discovered what a true blessing that weekend could be for their guests.
They began to feel a tug on their heart to come down here full time and minister to the missionaries.
At first glance that sentence doesn’t seem right….aren’t the missionaries the ones who are supposed to ministering to the local population??
The truth is being a fulltime missionary is taxing on emotions and relationships. Although the Lord is never going to give you more than He can help you handle, there are times when a couple days away with you family at the beach can do wonders. The Petersons answered the call. They moved from a comfortable life in San Diego to help minister to those who are changing lives in El Salvador. Uprooted their family to serve the Lord.
By ministering to the missionaries of this country they are continuing to expand the Kingdom.

Today I’m thankful for the people who have come across my path this month, like the Petersons. People who inspire me with their boldness. Give me confidence by their faith alone. Encourage me with their actions.
If you are reading this say a prayer for the Peterson family. Say a prayer for El Salvador. Say a prayer for the lives who are changing down here because they hear the name of Jesus Christ.
I’ll have another blog post up this week highlighting another great ministry we have come across. As always thanks for the prayers and encouragement from back home. Love you guys!
