As you may have guessed I will be going on the January 2014 route of the World Race…and I am beyond excited! This is supposed to be where I tell you a little more about myself…so here goes!

My name is Daniel and I’m 22 years old. The most important thing about me is that I am a Son of God and a follower of Christ.

I was born in Nairobi, Kenya where my parents were missionaries in East Africa…I guess I have been an international traveler since birth!

I remember accepting the Lord as my savior when I was about 7 years old and since that day I have been following him. There have been some highs and lows throughout the years but he has been with me every step of the way. I am continually growing closer to him and becoming the man he has called me to be.

Growing up I lived in Kenya and Tanzania until I was 4 years old, South Florida until I was 13 and then Kentucky became my home.

I stayed in state for college and attended Western Kentucky University…easily one of the best decisions of my life. I know God put in my in the right place for college. WKU will forever have a special place in my heart. Go Hilltoppers!

I have a degree in financial planning.

Post college I followed a calling to teach English in South Korea. I taught Elementary English at a public school in Gumi, South Korea from August 2012 until August 2013.

The months between Korea and launch were spent spending time with friends/family and working at Samaritan’s Purse at the Operation Christmas Child processing season.

I guess you could say I am still holding the pause button on my financial career; I am a little more interested in helping people invest in eternal life right now instead of 401 Ks.

Family:

God blessed me with a great set of parents who have loved me and have been a great example of a strong Christian home. In fact my whole extended family is a blessing!

I have an incredible sister, who is 24 and about to start a doctoral program in African Studies. My younger brother is 19 and studies Marine Biology and Fisheries at Texas A&M at Galveston.

My grandparents are two of my favorite people in the world and my Aunts, Uncles and cousins are easily one of the biggest gifts God gave to me. I love my family!

Hobbies:

I love sports. Traveling. The outdoors. Fishing. Card games. Reading. Spending time with people. Beaches. Spending time with kids. Making people laugh.

What makes me…me?

My friends have called me ‘D-Will’ since I was 14.

I have no problem showing emotion.

I climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro when I was 18. Added Mt Fuji to the list in August. I love the outdoors.

I am extroverted and love people.

I am a planner…but learning there are times to go with the flow.

I hardly ever get embarrassed.

I can’t dance…but it doesn’t stop me from trying.

Life is meant to be fun…each and every day.

Hopefully this gave a little glimpse into who I am and my story. There is a lot more to it, so stay with me and we’ll go through this journey together! Thanks for reading!
