Hey everyone!
I have some BIG NEWS. I am still leaving in January, but will be going to a different set of countries! I am now a member of the January 2014 ‘C’ squad.
There were too many people signed up (a great problem to have!) so they needed to make an additional route to keep the squad sizes within a manageable amount. We got an email asking us to consider changing…and then they sent another email to the men of my squad asking us specifically to consider a change.
My first thought was, “No thanks, that’s not where I am supposed to be. God put me on this route.”…but after a few days of thinking and praying about it, it became clear that the Lord needs me on the new route. A lot of women had the courage to change over and follow his call, and they need some guys to balance out the squad. As some of you may know there are countries around the world that still look down upon females and it can be dangerous for a group of ladies with no men around.
I am hoping there will be more guys to join this week because currently there are only about 6 of us in the 30 people, but whatever happens I am looking forward to getting to know this new group of incredible people at training camp. It takes a special group of people to listen to the will of the Lord when your heart can be set on something else.

The amount I need to fundraise and the dates stay the same! There will just by new people and different experiences ahead of me!
I leave for my 9 day training camp on Saturday. My pack is supposed to arrive in the mail today and then I can start packing and getting ready.
