Would you like to see Jesus in the flesh today? Would you
like to have a living example of righteousness? Do you want to see the Son of
God in all His glory?

I openly admit I would love to see Jesus! Maybe even touch
the hem of His garment as He walked the streets of Atlanta. My uncle Andy and I
could break through the roof of a nearby house Jesus is staying at in order for
my uncle to be healed. I would travel long distances to hear Jesus’ “sermon in
the Georgia Dome.” Oh, to see the love of my Savior face-to-face!

Well, Jesus said it is better that He died. In this case, He
said it is for our benefit that THE perfect son of Holiness goes to be with His
Father so that the Holy Spirit will come. “But I tell you the truth, it
is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will
not come to you; but if I go, I will send Him to you (John 16:7).”

As if that’s not enough, Jesus said “greater works” are
yet to be done following His death (see John 14:12). Seriously Jesus? Are you
sure, Jesus? YES. This is the spoken word of Jesus himself. In being a Christ
follower, I believe every word in the book of Life is eternal truth.

Are you just waiting for the second coming of Christ while
the rest of the world goes to hell-in-a-hand-basket? Wishing that Jesus were
still in the flesh? Are you simply marinating in your personal “going to
Heaven” revelation?

OR

Are you
living life expecting your Creator to do “greater things” on this side of
Heaven? Do you truly believe it was better for Christ to die? Are you a major
part of “His Kingdom Come, His Will Be Done!?”

Jesus affirms, “… blessed are those who believe without
seeing me (John 20:29).” Acknowledging that life is a sanctification process,
God loves you infinitely (Romans 8:38-39). I would encourage you to go deeper
into your love relationship with the Lord. Ask for more knowledge of who He is
(Ephesians 1:17). Might the fruit of the Spirit be present wherever you go
(Galatians 5:22). Know that your Creator is so pleased in you despite what you do.

Is your life evidence that it was better for Jesus to go so that “greater works” might be
done?…
