**I leave in 8 hours for New Zealand. This is a summary of some of the thoughts I have been having over the past few days**
Wait,
why am I doing this again?
I just
said goodbye for a year to all the people I care about most…
Why am I
doing this?
I just
left everything I know, everything that makes me feel comfortable and safe…
Why am I
doing this?
I just
left a soft bed, big nutritious meals, and a big screen TV…
Why in
the world would I do this?
*********************************************************
Because
the One who loves me has called me to it….
That is
why I am doing this.
Because
there is no real comfort or security outside of God Almighty…
That is
why I am doing this.
Because
there are millions around the world that do not have a soft bed, big nutritious
meals, or a big screen TV…
That is
why I am doing the World Race.
Leaving
the country for a year makes you stop and think. It makes you reflect on what you have and
what you don’t have. It makes you realize
how much you care for the ones you love.
It makes you pause and begin to look at the world in a whole new
way.
I have
relative wealth compared to the world, I have a college degree, I have lots of
trinkets and toys, but I have not yet experienced the FULLNESS of God. We spend so much time trying to accumulate
things, or financial security, or whatever else we think might satisfy us. When
the only thing we really need is God. I
am in search for the FULLNESS of God. I
am in search of a satisfied soul that needs nothing else but the awe inspiring
love of Jesus Christ. But I also want
everyone else in the world to have that as well. God created every single one of us, so that
we might know Him-deeply, personally, intimately. I want to take that message to the world. I want to CHANGE THE WORLD. I want people to know that they are
unconditionally loved. That they
are
worthy. That they are valued. There are people out there who are suffering,
people who do not know clean water, healthy food, or a warm bed. There are people out their being sold into
modern day slavery in the human trafficking industry. There are people who need our help. Will you change the world with me? Will you pray for these people? If we find a need in one of these countries
will you fulfill that need?
I once
talked with the president of OWN Digital Media (Oprah’s Network), he told me, “you may only be one
person but a person with a blog and a camera can change the world. Well I have a blog and a camera. And I will bring you the stories of those in
need. So what do you say we change the
world together?
