blog is going to seem very basic. Some
of you will probably think to yourself, “Come on Danny, I’ve known this my
whole life.” But I’m asking you to think
deeply. Ask yourself if you truly
understand what I am saying. Because
it’s the most incredible mystery of the entire world. And if we really understood all of the
implications of this truth…well then we all would be living very different
lives. This truth that I am talking about…
Christ in you. The
hope of glory.
Think
about that for a second. Christ in
you…Jesus Christ. The Son of God. The Savior of the world. The fullness of God. IN YOU. That doesn’t even make sense! The very presence of God coming to dwell
inside of His people. God, who created
the heavens and the earth. God, who spoke
the whole world into existence. Now
lives inside everyone who believes in Jesus as their Lord and Savior through
the Holy Spirit. If you can read that
and not be blown away, something is seriously wrong. Let me see if I can explain…
If we
look at the story of the Bible as a whole, we see a theme of God moving closer
and closer to His people. In the Garden
of Eden, God lived with Adam and Eve.
They enjoyed unbroken fellowship.
They communed together 24 hours a day.
Life the way we were meant to live.
Unfortunately, Adam and Even disobeyed God, allowing sin into the world
and separating them from God. And since
that point, every person is born separated from God, without the ability to
commune with God and exist in His presence.
But as we read the Bible, we see a God who is constantly moving closer
to His people. First, dwelling among the Hebrews inside the tabernacle. But because of sin, only one person once a
year (the high priest on the Day of Atonement) could actually enter into the Most Holy Place,
where the actual presence of God dwelt.
Then when the fullness of time had come, God actually came to dwell on
earth in the very life and body of Jesus Christ. “The fullness of God was
pleased to dwell in him” Col
1:22. God again moved closer to His
people. Now anyone who went to find
Jesus could enjoy fellowship with the very presence of God. However, the presence of God still only dwelled
in one physical location.
Then God revealed the mystery that had been
hidden from all generations. A mystery
which would change history and man kind forever. God desired to be so close with His people
that He made a way to come and dwell INSIDE of them! Now every person has the opportunity for the
very presence of God to live inside of them.
The God that spoke the world into existence, the God that breathed life
into every living thing, has chosen to make His home in those who believe and
trust in Him.
“The mystery hidden for ages and
generations but now revealed to his saints. To them God chose to make known how
great among the Gentiles are the riches of His glory of this mystery, which is
Christ in you the hope of glory.” Col
1:26-27
relationship that Adam and Even had with God in the Garden has been restored. Now fellowship and communion with God is
available every second of every day.
Every believer can live each moment in the very presence of God! Do you get that?? This is life changing stuff right here! The world can do nothing to take that truth
away from us. If we stand on the truth
of the Word of God, NOTHING, can steal our joy, our peace, our fullness of
life. We can literally live each day in
the presence of God and enter into the supernatural rest that God offers
(Hebrews 4:9-11). This is why God can
offer us the abundant life and not be talking about a lot of money or
things. The abundant life is living in
the presence of God and knowing that alone is all you need.
yeah…that is all I have thought about this past month. Living life in the very presence of God. It’s offered to every single one of His
children. So ask yourself. What do you want most in the world? The presence of God is all you need and its
yours. The question is, do you want it…
