Hey Everybody!

So it’s that time again, interactive Sunday!  I know I missed last Sunday…but it was
during the transition between Australia and the Philippines.  I hope you all can give me some grace ;

Anyway, the Philippines are incredible.  First off our ministry contact here is
a dream.  His name is Jeff Long and
he is actually from Kansas!  (He
walks around in Kansas Jayhawk gear ALL the time haha).  God has absolutely blessed his ministry
here outside of Manilla.  Jeff
seemingly has his hand in and is an integral part in 20 ministries or
more.  The part that amazes me the
most is that “ministry” does not dominate his life.  He completely understands it’s not his work to do, but God’s.  What a great person to learn how to
serve the Lord, but still rest from your works!

Jeff discussed all the different types of ministries  and as teams we got to pray and seek
the Lord on what we felt led to do.
The majority of Trumpets of One felt that now familiar urge to do Prison
Ministry!  I’ll be honest, I am a
little uneasy.  But for the last
year or so, this passage has hung over my head,

34 “Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who
are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you
since the creation of the world. 35 For I was hungry and you gave me something
to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and
you invited me in, 36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you
looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’ ~ Matthew 25:34-36

Every time I read it, I think to myself, “God, I can do
all those other things…but I really don’t want to go visit people in a prison.”  Yet for the last year I have felt the
Spirit’s conviction to fulfuill this passage.  These are STILL the very words of Jesus!  So, as my team was explaining this un
explainable desire to do prison ministry, I knew it was now time to be
obedient.  Now every Monday,
Wednesday, and Thursday we will head down to the local prison and feed the prisoners,
play basketball and other games with them, and finish with a devotion.

So this is where I need all of you!  I’ll be honest, I don’t know what I am
doing.  But that just means I have
to rely on our Father completely now.

My question for you this week is:  Will you pray for our Prison Ministry?
Will you intercede for the relationships we are about to build, and as we meet
them pray for them by name?  Also,
if you have any ideas or if God gives you some ideas will you comment them on
the blog?   Trumpets of One
needs lots of help this month, so if you have anything words of encouragement
or advice please post back!

Thank you all so much, couldn’t do this without you
all! photo.php.jpg
