Ignition Training Camp – Part 1
The M (Mercy) Squad!
Ever since I can remember, I just knew that we could talk to God. He is my Heavenly Father, what father wouldn’t want to talk to his children? But how do you talk to someone you can’t see? How do you hear a voice that isn’t audible?
So this was my life for about 22 years. I wanted to talk to Him, I prayed so many times that I could hear His voice and see His face just like Moses. There were times that I thought it might be Him, but how do you know if it’s His voice or just my imagination…?
Well I just spent the last ten days at the Ignition Training Camp with Adventures in Missions for the World Race in January, and this is what I learned… GOD TALKS TO HIS CHILDREN.
This always brings me to a place of worship…
I know what some of you are thinking right now…God talks to us through His written Word, that’s it. It is true that the Bible is God’s word and we can talk to Him through reading the Bible. But, we also have His Holy Spirit. The fullness of God himself lives INSIDE of us. When you think of it like that, it would be weirder if He didn’t talk to us. During one of the sessions, we were talking about the different types of bondage that we live in. It might be condemnation, guilt, rejection, fear, etc. I was challenged to ask God to find someone to pray for and then ask God to give me a word for them…
I walked over and saw two men standing up, and knew right away which guy God wanted me to pray for, who by the way I hadn’t met yet. So I closed my eyes and said, “Lord, speak to me. What do you want me to say to this guy?” As I stood there the word “Truth” popped into my head. I just knew there was some truth in this guy’s life that needed to be revealed so that God could heal him. Initially I thought to myself, “Danny you are going to look pretty stupid when you say that to him. Do you really want to look that stupid?” But right away I was reminded that I am free from fear of man, this was a safe place, and it was a chance to really find out if God really talks to us. So I walked right up to him and said…
“Hey man. I saw you standing up and the Lord just told me that there is some truth in your life that needs to be revealed. God wants to heal you from something, but if you keep it in the dark, if you try to keep it hidden from Him, He cannot heal you. I don’t know if maybe you’ve never told anyone before or something else, but you need to bring this truth to the light.”
