I’m not very good at keeping my blogs updated, so here’s one Iv been wanting to write since Haiti, 4 months ago.
My team and some others were in a local Village in Haiti doing house visits with some translators. At the end of the afternoon we were all heading back to the bus. One of the translators and I were in the front walking down a dusty road in the middle of the village. From a long way off I saw a crippled man with a cane dragging his right leg. My first thought was “I’m gonna go pray for this guy!”, but at the time I had been working on hearing from the Lord more before praying for people. So I told myself I was gonna wait and listen, and if the Holy Spirit tells me to pray for him I will. So as I’m walking closer to him I hear nothing, I come up about parallel with him just about to pass him when he starts saying something to me about my beard, while touching his face. Ha! I knew right then that was the go ahead I needed. I stopped and tried to understand but of course I couldn’t, so I pointed to his leg and made hand motions saying I want to pray for you. Then I asked my translator to translate. He also had a crippled hand to go along with his right leg that seemed completely useless. By then the rest of my team started to walk up. As I started to lay hands on his leg others put their hands on him while one girl held his crippled hand. I told the translator no need to translate while we pray, then we all started to pray, commanding healing in the name of Jesus. As I was in the middle of praying I looked at him and his eyes got real big in disbelief and he started looking at his leg and then hand and back at his leg, pointing at it and freaking out. I told him “Jesus just healed you!” I grabbed his cane and said “come on!” We started walking down the road, that turned into a fast walk, then turned into a light jog! I just kept pointing up saying Jesus, Jesus! We stopped At the end of the road and the man was still in disbelief, he was filled with tears of joy and laughter. 5 minutes ago he couldn’t even move his right leg, or his crippled hand, but Jesus changed that within seconds. The translator then started to tell him how it was Jesus that did all this for him, and then the man started pointing up saying Jesus!
The beautiful thing about that man getting healed is that it’s an automatic undeniable testimony to everyone in that village. Jesus healed the sick, and he wants you to do the same, it’s a vital role in advancing his kingdom.
