Zdrast vuy te
iz Odesa Ukraine. Da, ya nimnoga gavaryu paruski.. Me nya zavut Dmoney,
ochen pryatna. Ya iz Dallas,
Texas. LOL if you didn’t catch any
of that its okay I got ur back 🙂 Hello from Odesa Ukraine. Yes I speak a
little Russian. my name is Dmoney
and I am from Dallas Texas. It
gets worse. ive decided that since
I don’t really know all the language, and most people don’t understand what im
saying half the time anyways I would mix it up with a lil Russhinish….. which
is basically me mixing Russian with Spanish. (Pazhalsta quen me va a panimayu) Odesa is a crazy place but let me tell where I have been in
the past three days. our leaders squad started with a lotta flying, I myself started out
flying from Dallas to New York, there was a large misunderstanding that landed
me in a cab for about 4-5 hours(long story ill explain better later) finally we
flew from new york to Old Paris where there was a great layover. after staying up for 37 hours due to
Air France having free video games on board and the Paris airport having
Kyosks’ with free playstation3 playtime, rest was achieved on the flight to the awesome Kiev
airport. Some what caught up on
sleep, we enter Kiev Ukraine where reality sets in. Far from home, separated from family and friends my heart
stops for a minute. And then God
reels back to my body, his love and comfort sweeps thru my veins and I breathe
again! the rocky Theme starts to play inside me, home is where the heart is and
my heart is with Him. Our group of
team leaders spend the night in a hostile and prepare to bring in our teams
from the states, thru successful anarchy we get them all and we part on a 8
hour train ride to our contact destination. fast forward to NOW! The people are
amazing in Odesa, in this part of Ukraine most every body speaks Russian. if you speak Ukraine they will
understand you but will speak back in Russian. Kinda like when your down on the border towns of Texas and
Mexico and begin speaking English,
they know what your saying but small luck getting it back. Its Day two and it feels like I have
been here for two weeks but in a good way. Im picking up on the language quickly and that I think is
the biggest roadblock. our contact
in Odesa is awesome and we are beginning to build a relationship fast with
them. more details to come but we
hung out with them today and joined in on what they call The English Club, here
we are building relationships and talking with natives that want to know more
English work on it or just build their skills. this is an amazing windo into the community and I think we
as a group can learn a lot form this activity. there is so much oppurtunity with this contact and they themselves are great, they have opened up and have welcomed into the family. uhhmm we are stayin in a nice lil apt with the bare essentials, i dont think i could ask for anything more we have all that we need to survive and i couldnt be happier, i love you all and i wish i could write more, but the internet in our spot is not the freshest catch. So hopefully i will have greater things to say when i am on. I can say that the Marshrutka(autobus) is becoming more my friend and maybe the art of getting to wifi will become easier. things to pray for: direction, peace, strong leadership, the amazing Woody (love you ZF), Health, the people of Kiev and Odesa. All my ninjas on the WR thru out the world, and my Team GLOW. and of course my fam and friends back stateside Holler!!
