If Jesus was telling this story he would of most likely been talking to a small crowd, and they most likely would have been sitting on a small hill. “Teacher are you not excited about our rapid approaching Banquet?” And Jesus told them this parable, in hope they would not forget his Love.
“There was a Farmer who had just entered the first quarter of his highest harvest season. And his crops were of most importance to the lands. He took great pleasure in these first crops as there were only fifty planted in the rich soil. Each crop that was to be grown had the potential to harvest one hundred seeds that could produce hundreds more. The eager Farmer had two choices with these fifty crops in the rich soil. Combined the fifty crops would produce five-thousand seeds that could be replanted into the land they loved. Or the eager Farmer could burn the five-thousand seeds and go about his business. By replanting he brings life and the crops feed mouths that don’t have the means to eat. And by burning his seeds nothing is received but the memory of the fire.”
The crowds understood well but it did not reach their hearts. “You are the farmers, and they are my crops” he said to his disciples “but burn the seeds cause I know where your hearts are in the river of life”
