I recently came back from a 23 day camping and hiking trip out to the Western United States and Alaska. I felt that this trip was a prologue to the adventure that awaits me in October. I am confident that the World Race will be trying at times, but well worth the adventure for Christ. This trip was great for witnessing the vast natural wonders God has created for us to enjoy. I have always enjoyed the quiet peace present in the wilderness. I feel that the distractions melt away and God is within breathing distance.

I can feel his presence when I am ascending a mountain or crossing a stream or hiking through a forest. Even when I was thoroughly depleted of my remaining energy hiking back up the Grand Canyon, I was still blown away by the unreal creation of jagged red rocks and sheer cliff faces. He truly is the greatest artist.

Frightening and difficult it may be to venture to the most beautiful landscapes in the world, you will not regret the trouble it took or the memories you have. Likewise, it may unnerve some to meet and live with those who are different than them, but the amount you learn and love you receive will impact your growth with God and everyone else. I can only imagine how much more amazing the World Race will be as I will be experiencing the natural wonders across the globe with those incredible people who call it home.

In Christ,
