So after two solid months of ministry
our Squad was blessed to have a few days of down time in Bravos,
Romania. This place is beautiful. A small little town with plenty
to do all around it.
First up was guy day on the mountain.
For $30.00 I rented skis and got a four hour lift ticket. We hopped
on the enclosed lift and went higher and higher up the mountain and
when we thought we got to the top ledge it turned out there was more
mountain to go up. I don’t think I have ever been so high up in my
life. The view was amazing. The mountains in the distance where
covered with snow and some even had snow storms going on as we
climbed up the mountain.

The mountain was so much fun. It took
a little bit to remember what I was doing since it had been a few
years since I skied last. Going down was a smooth ride for the most
part since we had fresh powder on most of the trail. It was relaxing
doing down the mountain and seeing the beauty all around.

It wasn’t until the last run that I ran
into some trouble. The guys wanted to go down a harder course which
I was okay with. Until we started off and it turned out the the
course was mostly strait down on ice and rock. It didn’t end well
for me. I tried to take a side route instead of going strait down
but just ended up hitting a patch of ice which thrust me down a hill
where I reconnected with the main path and my group. I shot past
them like a bullet from a gun and soared through the air about five
feet high before I landed and busted. My skis came off as I
continued to tumble down the mountain another 20 feet. The guys were
all impressed by my ability to take a hard hit and I like to add that
I earn the award for biggest bust of the day. All and all it was an
awesome day on the mountain with the guys.
Next on the stop was going to Bram
Stoker’s Castle. This place was awesome and right out of the story
book. Up on a creepy hill with dead trees all around and fresh snow.

Entering the old castle chills run down
your spine. (I don’t think it helped that it was in the 20s when we
were there.) The old place was amazing. The sun was hidden in the
clouds as we searched through the castle looking at all the treasures
that were inside.

Every corner held something new for us
to stare at. So many cool old things as we went room to room only to
find the secret staircase. We climbed up the narrow stairs to find
our group on the second floor for a whole new adventure.

Walking around the hallways we entered
the armory. Shields hung along the walls with suits of armor on
display and weapons all over the place.

the Dracula family it was truly a fantastic afternoon in
Transylvania.
