So this month we are working with
another group from our squad. Last night we were waiting for our
overnight bus to take us to Ongole. Only a seven and a half hour
trip with no stops along the way. Our bus showed up 40 minutes late
and we began to load our bags underneath the bus. My teammate and I
were told to hold our guitars for last so they wouldn’t get damaged.
So with only three of us left outside to put our stuff away our panel
filled up and we were told to got to the other side of the bus.
While waiting on the other side of the bus we noticed that the bus
started to leave the street corner. We started to jog to keep up
with it as it stopped only a few feet away. As someone was trying to
open up another panel for us the bus started to take off again but at
a much faster rate. So we ran after it again. I caught up to the
bus door first and reached for the handle on the inside when another
squad member grabbed my jacket sleeve. Instead of pulling me into
the bus he kind of just held me in my current position of being
dragged by the bus for a few seconds. I yelled at him to just let me
go as the bus pulled over and let us put our stuff away. Finally we
all got on board and took our seats. Our first real day in the field
and I almost get left behind..
