So Sunday morning (10:45am) we headed
off to church to listen to the service. The church is part of the
mission group that we are working with ICM (India Christian
Missions). When we got there the music was going with only women and
children in the service. We sat on the floor with everyone else but
were soon shown some benches to sit on since we were honored guest to
them. The men slowly entered and sat in the back of the church. It
was a packed house of mostly women. The Pastor K spoke and we sat
and listened without a translator to worship and the message for
almost two hours before he invited a young couple from the US that
had been working with them to speak. We sat and listened as he spoke
and Pastor K translated to the people. It was nice to understand
what was going on again. Another 30-45 minutes past and the service
came to a close.
asked to come up on the stage for prayer. I thought that they were
going to pray over us but it turns out they wanted us to pray over
them. So we all lined up on the stage and as I turned most of the
women had stayed to be prayed over and receive a blessing from us.
It was really overwhelming. I started to pray over these women who
had know clue what I was saying but they were happy to receive
anything. One of the women brought a young boy to me and grabbed my
hand and put it on his legs. He could not walk on his own power so I
started to pray that God would heal him and make his legs strong so
he could run and play with the other children. When I opened my eyes
a few more of my teammates were praying over all of us. I started to
pray over more of the women and just offer up blessing to them and
their families. After I had finished praying with this little old
woman she gently held my hand and I looked down at her face to see a
single tear run down her cheek. Jesus is alive a doing incredible
things in India.
