This month my team has been privileged to do Unsung Heroes. Basically meaning, we travel around the country searching for new Christian organizations, people that are doing good and need the encouragement, or have the desire to receive world racers in the future, coming along side serving with them.

Two days ago we met Mary Dell. Mary is the founder of Boost Africa. An organization that started seven years ago here in South Africa.

It all started because of school uniforms. She was working with YWAM by then, and saw school age kids playing on the streets when they were supposed to be at school. That really burdened her. She started questioning why those kids were not at school and found out a lot had to do with the lack of money to buy uniforms.

She was shocked and decided to do something about it, and that’s how Boost Africa was born.

Nowadays, after seven years, it’s so much more than uniforms!!!

They fight poverty and crime through education. Education in all aspects. They provide after school programs and even a class for kids that can’t make the school year. They are located in one of the townships in Cape Town.

They also provide computer skills classes to Teenagers and Adults.

The whole space of Boost Africa is a safe environment for children, they have reading areas and rooms where the kids can come to do their homework. They also have workshops to empower and educate the kids in different areas.

Mary is a very charismatic lady, involved in everything. She knows the kids, the area, and the people.  Clearly, she follows Jesus and is willing to do what it takes to spread His kingdom on Earth.

Boost is now willing to expand to other townships, please be praying for that, that they will have support and right directions.
