Greetings!

Gosh am I blessed- to be a part of The World Race, to be supported by all of you,  to be able to share how your role in supporting me is making an impact on the world through the love and light of the LORD. Thank you- EVERYONE – for the way you have invested in GOD’s movement.

These episodes will take you through our travels to get to Indonesia. [I currently type to you from a tiny coffee shop off a Latvian alleyway, so I am working to catch you up on our current status. I’ll have our Indonesian episodes to you in a week or so. They are (mostly) queued up…]

My hope is that these episodes give you insight into The World Race culture, the “travel day” experience, and some of the goofy personalities and perspectives our squad brings to serving and loving others. :0)

Thank you all for your love and prayers, your positivity and support!

TWR 3.13: new team reveal
~ ~ ~
while it is hard to see such a beautiful chapter close, i celebrate all the joy, adventure, growth, and goodness that GOD brought into my first team while a part of the world race.

now, we are encouraged to continue to grow and develop community with new teams as we move forward in our route. :0)

*this episode is dedicated to a dear soul friend from soul city church. i met ashley goldsberry through my worship small group and was immediately blessed to know a sister in CHRiST who has such a kind, warm heart and compassionate spirit. ashley is beautifully social and has a way of connecting with others; making them feel valued and seen. her joy and sparkling energy truly reflects the love and light of the LORD. ashley- i am so grateful to have you as a sweet friend and to have so much love and support from you!

TWR 3.14: fusion squad 2.0 – ONE WORD

~ ~ ~

a prompt for the world race fusion squad 2.0.:
“describe your experience with the world race so far…
…in ONE WORD.”

~

during the first debrief meeting on our fusion route [month 3], my co-storyteller, salvador, and i had the opportunity to collaborate with each of our squadmates to share about a world racer’s initial experience transitioning into 11 months of service, travel, ministry, and living in community.

they were not provided with any context or questions prior to their interview with us. we put them on the spot. ;0)

TWR 3.15: travel day – vietnam to malaysia
~ ~ ~
it’s another travel day(s)! our entire squad was able to travel together [by bus AND AiRPLANE!] for a majority of the journey from our debrief location in vung tàu. this episode highlights the adventures through vietnam to a layover in malaysia.

*this episode is dedicated to the aunt and uncle of my GSB [graduate school buddy]. i first met aunt beth and uncle mark over the phone and over skype, as i live in illinois and they are in florida. aunt beth and i collaborated to host a bridal shower for lisa a few months before her wedding. by the time i met aunt beth in person on the day of the shower, i already felt like she was family! through lisa’s family events and celebrations of which I have been a part, i have had a lot of opportunities to interact with aunt beth and uncle mark – they have even graciously hosted lisa and me during a vacation to florida!

aunt beth and uncle mark, i am grateful to have an extension of family through lisa. your support of me in all of life’s seasons is something I truly treasure and I am so blessed by your partnership in what the LORD is doing through the world race! thank you!

TWR 3.16: duty free perfume samples
~ ~ ~
before boarding our flight to malaysia, we headed to the duty free perfume shop in the airport to take advantage of the samples. ;0)

*this episode is dedicated to barb, with whom i had the opportunity to work in a church nursery once a week before i left for the world race. barb has such a joyful spirit and a gift for loving the tinies. as i shared with her my call to serve, she was incredibly encouraging and supportive. AND she put me in touch with a former racer to seek advice and guidance!

thanks, barb, for sharing your gladness and kindness with me, as well as your support and encouragement in the LORD!

TWR 3.17: malaysian moving walkway
~ ~ ~
layovers and travel can sometimes be a bit boring…and sometimes it all leads to some creativity and goofiness. ;0)

*this episode is dedicated to lynn hayes, who i first met at a women’s gathering affiliated with my church community. i knew few people upon my first attendance, but i was paired with lynn during and share and prayer partnering exercise. immediately, i felt at ease and was so encouraged by lynn’s joyful, honest, compassionate spirit. lynn has such a gift for investing into others; cheering for them and empathizing with them.

lynn, thank you for your prayers, your support, your hugs, and for all the ways you have made me – and SO many others – feel special. you have richly blessed me with your heart and your support.
