TWR 2.8: weekend retreat (part 1)
~ ~ ~
an anonymous party graciously gifted our team with a weekend getaway to the city of kampong chhnang! we had our first exposure to beds, fans, running water, and other comforts we hadn’t encountered since beginning our ministry in cambodia. it was a wonderful opportunity to be refreshed and rejuvenated before finishing our second month of the world race! this episode highlights our friday.

*this episode is dedicated to dave yetter, with whom i went to church and middle school. he was two classes ahead of me in school and we now live in separate states. but learning that a contribution came from him – someone who i haven’t seen in years – was so meaningful. it showcased his generosity and investment in GOD’s work and demonstrated how GOD can weave people from all seasons of life into opportunities to glorify HiM! thank you for your prayers and support, dave! :0)

TWR 2.11: cambodia comedy
~ ~ ~
living out in a remote, rural countryside in Cambodia, we entertained ourselves in all sorts of nonsense in between and during our ministry and service!

*this episode is dedicated to the shipboard community’s physician from the semester at sea fall 2014 voyage. dr. mark rawson has an incredibly caring, generous heart and so frequently and selflessly leads by example of what it means to put the needs of others before his own. on multiple occasions, dr. mark invited me into his city excursions around the world within our voyage itinerary and some of those adventures are among my favorite memories. he has an creative, mystical sense of humor and gift for delivering information and captivating an audience. dr. mark- thank you for a friendship extended beyond our voyage, for keeping connected, and for your investment in the opportunity to spread love and light around the world!

TWR 2.12: tales from the kitchen
~ ~ ~
much of our time in fellowship and feasting and figure-out-ing occurred in our open-air kitchen. here’s a glimpse into the tales.

*this episode is dedicated to one of my AKONiSTE lovies from my semester at sea 2014 voyage- my student worker, dylan castagno! working alongside of dylan to coordinate diverse programming centered around values and spirituality was such a privilege. and leading worship for some of the shipboard community remains one of my most rich and cherished memories of the experience. and through all of that, dylan has become a wonderful friend and brother in CHRiST. thank you, dylan, for sharing your heart with me and making such an impression. i so admire your pursuit of the LORD and i am so, so blessed by your support in my journey with the world race!

TWR 2.13: the work of our hands- cambodia
~ ~ ~
this month pushed us into a collection of tasks, chores, manual labor, and daily routines that stretched us out of our comfort. we developed new skills and a new typical. this insight is offered from the perspective our our hands.

*this episode is dedicated to a friend i met in our first year of college. and with over a dozen years of friendship and shared life adventures and experiences, as well as professionally partnering together in the photography industry, he knows me so, so well. of course, because he knows my heart, i sought the feedback and thoughts of jeff balsewicz among the first of those with whom i discussed feeling called by GOD to be a part of the world race. without hesitation, jeff provided insight and encouragement, sensitivity and enthusiasm. he served as a resource as i developed ideas for raising support, he offered reassurance any moment doubts or fear crept into my spirit, and he was among the first to be a partnered donor. jeff has remained just as invested in this precious opportunity as i now find myself across the world, living out the call, just as he did the very first moment i requested that he meet me for coffee and conversation to mention the world race. jeff- thank you for your continued dedication to our friendship and you genuine interest and care in my call to serve through the world race!
