I had the opportunity to close my time on the field as a Squad Content Manager in the nation of Cambodia!

SCM 3.1: welcome [back] to cambodia
~~~
follow a relaxing travel day into a country to which i return, with a fresh and calming perspective.
SCM 3.2: meet team HESED
~~~

meet alyssa, courtney, kaiti, kierstin, malia, and paige, who make up the team with whom i spent this month. team HESED worked in the brutal cambodian sun to perform tasks and carry out projects to maintain and develop the property on which the host organization is located. each morning, these six women labored in moving gravel, creating pathways, and building gardens.

*episode dedicated to my one of my essies – one of the very individuals on the world race s squad who exhibits a heart so deeply rooted and reflective of CHRiST. paige lindner operates with a servant heart, consistently extending care and encouragement to those around her. she carries a dazzling joy about her and an extraordinary desire to learn and grow. as paige herself was in her final weeks of wrapping up her own fundraising, she demonstrated absolute trust in the LORD’s provision and operated out of obedience and boldness to donate to me. paige, it was a joy to serve alongside of you and your team this month and to learn from the way you vibrantly walk out your faith!

SCM 3.3: ministry property tour
~~~
the organization with whom we worked this month is settled in a province countryside. the mission of this program is to educate and provide a home to children who are at a high-risk for human-trafficking. in addition to the primary ministry for child protection and empowerment, the property is operating with multiple layers and elements of self-sustainability and impressive stewardship of the environment.
*episode dedicated to my teammie, alycia, with whom i traveled and served across the globe during the world race. alycia and i were on team KiMBERLiTE together, where i learned so much from alycia’s sensitivity to the voice of the SPiRiT, was inspired by her courageous practice of vulnerability, received the warmth of her nurturing character, and relied on a consistently available buddy with whom to be wacky and goofy! alycia, thank you for your friendship and for your sisterhood in CHRiST. thank you for being a significant cheerleader and support to me during the world race and into this season!
SCM 3.4: treats from papa mark
~~~

papa mark served as our primary host and contact for team hesed’s month of ministry. he currently lives in cambodia with his wife to support and direct the group home and outreach program committed to human trafficking prevention. he has a generous spirit and a goofy nature, so he quickly won us over. ;0) he brought homemade cookies from his wife to treat us out in the countryside, along with hats for work in the field and microwaveable popcorn for a star wars movie night. and, of course, among all of the excitement we had a little break so that we could build on our science lessons from papa mark.

SCM 3.5: morning at the market
~~~
we headed into a local village market with papa mark to learn more about the local cambodian culture and shop for groceries.
SCM 3.6: meet and greet
~~~

the organization with which team hesed partnered during their time in cambodia focuses on providing a home and education for youth who are at a high risk for human trafficking. to introduce ourselves to the children who live at the center, we spent the evening snacking on fresh fruit, playing name and language games, and dancing to music!

*episode dedicated to abe and isaac, who produce positivity and encouragement that truly make an impact in the world. they use their photography and social media platforms to uplift and inspire others. it is a joy to follow their profiles and adventures and i am so blessed to have them invest and partner with me in what the LORD is doing across the world!

SCM 3.7: sunset in cambodia
~~~
team hesed had the opportunity to hike to the top of a hill with some of our hosts to watch the sun set over cambodia. i’ve been all over the world, and i will still hold on to my opinion that the best sunsets are in cambodia.
SCM 3.8: hanging with hesed on a saturday night
~~~

saturday night’s get wild with team hesed – sharing prayer requests, painting artwork, and inventing dessert recipes out in the village countryside! ;0)

SCM 3.9: the killing fields museum
~~~
the khmer rouge ruled and destroyed much of cambodia’s culture and population between 1975 and 1979. this genocide has significant history and heartbreak, which can be explored in phnom penh at one of over 300 known sites where victims were tortured and executed.
