I’m headed back to the field to serve and support another World Race squad. My focus will be encouraging, empowering, and equipping Racers in sharing their stories. :0)

SCM 1.1: squad content manager send off

by an unexpected twist of events, the LORD has called me back onto the field to work with the program with which served last year! i was recruited and hired by adventure in missions, the host organization, with three other recent alumni from the world race to pioneer a new position called “squad content manager”. in this position, we will join a squad and work alongside of the volunteers to empower and equip them in their storytelling through blogs and social media.

it’s an honor to have been identified as someone who can be a part of the unique experience of collaborating with adventures in missions to create and define a new position; to support those who are current and future participants of the world race as storytellers in KiNGDOM work!

*episode dedicated to my home community, my fusion family from my 2016 journey with the world race, and all of those who have been a part of my past year of storytelling!

SCM 1.2: doho to kuala lumper
~~~
my flight itinerary brought me through qatar and malaysia for two different layovers as i made my way to my final destination in nepal. i had the opportunity to meet some new friends on the airplanes and to have an EPiC rest in my first ever experience in an airport hotel!
*episode dedicated to my dad and his wife for sponsoring my iNCREDiBLE nap in the most luxurious airport setting into which i have ever stepped foot! thank you, dad and tooty, for the ways you have supported my collection of REM cycles in this journey- and supporting me in all of my life chapters!
SCM 1.3: nepal arrival
~~~

my final flight of the journey brought me to kathmandu, nepal, where I was retrieved by one of the world racers from s squad, mikayla, who happens to be a former student from when i worked for semester at sea!

*episode dedicated to my mom who has tolerating my extended jaunts across the globe multiple times and always selflessly released me into the protection and hand of JESUS. i certainly realize how that can be difficult to watch one’s only daughter leave and be away for so long.

thank you, mom, for your support and love in the ways i have followed the LORD’s lead. i love you!

SCM 1.4: introducing the content manager position
~~~
before i fully launch into my new role as a squad content manager, i wanted to provide a bit of context as to how i found myself pioneering a new position with adventure in missions and what the vision is for it!
SCM 1.5: meeting s squad at debrief in nepal
~~~

i was a little nervy to meet s squad and be accepted into their community, but they warmly received me as their squad content manager. they included me in their worship gatherings, social activities, and even offered me an opportunity to vision-cast and present workshops in storytelling.

their debrief in thamel – outside of kathmandu, nepal – was a wonderful way to get to know the dynamic of the squad and explore the beautiful streets of the host city!

*episode dedicated to my GODmother, aunt elsa, who has been a tremendous support to me through prayer and fundraising. she is so deeply rooted in CHRiST and has a heart to see the world moved by HiS love. thank you, aunt elsa, for the way you have set an example of how to passionately pursue the LORD and lead others to do the same!

SCM 1.6: implementing the SCM role
~~~
upon my arrival to nepal with s squad, i have hit the ground running! i am grateful for a squad who has welcomed me with joy and love and has a strong passion for sharing the goodness of the LORD. i sit down with racer to help them edit, process, and post blogs. i remind them to share their story and have delegated tasks to racers on each team appointed as “team content managers”. best of all – while monitoring progress of the storytelling among the members of the squad, i have the unique opportunities to connect with each racer and learn about how GOD is working in each of their hearts!
*episode dedicated to my sweet friend from soul city church – ashley goldsberry. I met ashley through a small group and our friendship quickly became one i deeply cherish. ashley has a sparkle about her and a desire to come alongside of the LORD in the way HE leads others to support their unique call and purpose. ashley, thank you for your enthusiasm in supporting me as i serve overseas. your heart and investment is making a significant impact across the world!
SCM 1.7: football, frisbee, and feeding outreach
~~~

one of my first days to join s squad in service, we spent a morning hosting an outreach program in a neighborhood of jawalakhel, just outside katmandu, nepal. members of the squad facilitated outdoor activities like football and frisbee. additionally, i [sorta] succeeded in a facebook live feed of the experience to be presented on the world race page! the day ended with a bible story skit and a rice meal, prepared and served by some of the squad, for those who attended.

*episode dedicated to my first team leader from the world race – darek hollis! i have learned so much for darek’s servant heart and gentle spirit. he loves deeply and selflessly and has a GOD-instilled gift for blessing others through encouragement. darek’s friendship richly defined my race and i am so, so grateful for his support of me moving into this opportunity. thank you for your prayers, darek, your artwork, and your financial contribution. and, most of all, thank you for being a dear friend and brother in CHRiST.

SCM 1.8: HOLY SPiRiT treasure hunt
~~~
listening prayer is a practice that was brand new to me when i began my journey with the world race. learning to listen to the voice of the HOLY SPiRiT is still something in which i am growing, but when i do experience it, i am BLOWN AWAY!
On this day of ministry, i collaborated with s squad members jenna and becca to let the LORD lead us into a treasure hunt! we pieced together how the SPiRiT had individually spoken to us through prayer and wandered into a wonderfully unexpected gem. :0)
*episode dedicated to my LONGLOST-THEN-REUNiTED iDENTiCAL TWiN, SANG! if you’ve watched even a single episode of my adventures with the world race, you’ve met sang. ;0) he has a tremendous heart for missions – serving the LORD with great commitment across the world himself or generously and joyfully supporting others in being mobilized to pursue their call from CHRiST. i am honored to have been challenged and influenced by his compassionate and intentional spirit through our time together through our fusion squad and then to now be supported by him in a continuation of the world race.
it’s an honor to have been able to be a part of sang’s global work with ministry last year and to see his compassion for people. and now i am blessed to be supported by him as i serve in this unique role. thank you, sang, for your twinship and friendship; for your prayers and encouragement. i am so, so grateful!
SCM 1.9: introduction to the squad leaders for s squad
~~~

meet amanda, lo, and tammy. these women fiercely pursue CHR!ST and have a heart to lead others into the same.

they love the bachelor, too. :0)

i’m so blessed to be able to collaborate with them throughout this experience!

SCM 1.10: a day off in thamel
~~~
thamel is a neighborhood of kathmandu, nepal. the windy, narrow roads and alleyways are lined with colorful streamers, bakeries and cafes with tasty treats, and shops that are popular destinations for acquiring trekking gear and local artist goods.
on this particular off-day, the squad leaders of s squad and i were committed to buying trekking pants and watching an episode of the bachelor.
