Spiritual warfare. This is something that is not talked about often and most would like to pretend it doesn’t exist. But let me tell you friends, it does.
Last week my team and I had the opportunity to spend some time with children at a local orphanage. We played games, taught english, and showed the love of Christ. It was a great morning! God continues to show me how we are to care for the orphans of this world. We are to protect them. We are to love them the way Jesus did. These children are beautiful and LOVE to be held. It is a privilege to give them the attention that they deserve. While I cherish these moments, they are not the reason I am writing this blog. I am writing to let you know just how BIG my God IS and how badly we NEED to spread the Good News of Jesus to ALL NATIONS.
Possessed. I saw two children manifest demons. One was a nine-year-old boy (Joseph) and the other a 17-year-old girl (Rebekah). Both come from a Hindu background where their family members prayed to various “gods.” Often times Hindus will enter temples and pray to their “gods,” or demons rather, inviting them to reside within their soul. Parents take their children into the temples as well, encouraging the same possession to occur.
When Joseph began to manifest the demon, he began to act like a snake. Quite literally a snake…with a hissing sound stemming from his mouth, he slithered on the ground with his tongue out. I saw this with my own two eyes. Rebekah manifested in a slightly different way, but in the form of a snake.
When my team and I were praying for them, each was prayed for separately.
With this, we saw how powerful our Jesus is.
What the Word says IS true.
Demons must submit to Jesus’ name. The demon responded when asked “In Jesus name! What is your name?”. When I was praying for Rebekah, her head was turned away from me. When this question was asked, she quickly turned to look me in the eye. And the question was answered.
In that moment I realized it was not Rebekah who I locked eyes with, but the demon.
It broke my heart to see these two behaving in ways they had no control over. The demon in Rebekah said that it didn’t want to leave. It, in fact, wanted to kill her! It makes me angry knowing so much of the world is being deceived! Deceived into thinking that worshiping a snake, an elephant or a “god” will save them. NO! They are all demons and they their sole purpose is to torment.
It is NOT OKAY.
And as Christian’s, we NEED to be aware of it!
Friends, wake up! There is a war going on! This war is NOT of flesh and blood, but one of the spiritual realm!
Jesus IS THE ANSWER.
Put on your spiritual armor, meditate on the Word, and share the love of Jesus with the masses.
The thief comes only to steal, kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly. I am the good Shepherd. The good Shepherd lays down His life for the sheep.
John 10:10-11
Are you willing to join in what God is doing among the nations? Bringing His children back to him?

*Joseph and Rebekah were ultimately delivered! Praise Jesus! God is so unbelievably good! Rebekah is one of the sweetest people you will ever meet. She always has a smile on her face and is ready to give you a hug. It is a testament to the redemptive love that is in Christ Jesus!
