Launch Part 1
I arrived at launch a few days early on September 4th so I could spend some time with a few of my squad mates. It was an awesome time. Four of us stayed with Davis and his family and they took us in like we were their own kids. I was very grateful to have been surrounded by a great family before leaving when I couldn’t be with my own.
As we traveled to the hotel where the launch process would begin, I began to feel uneasy and home sick. Let’s just say things became “real, real.” The Lord is so good though. He is constantly there to remind us why we are doing what we are doing when it is inline with His will. I was listening to a song called “Called Me Higher,” by All Sons & Daughter when it really began to resonate with me. Part of it goes like this…
I could just sit,
I could just sit and wait for all your goodness
Hope to feel your presence
And I could just stay
I could just stay where I am and
Hope to you, hope to feel something again
I could hold on
I could hold on to who I am and never let You change me from the inside
I could be safe, I could be safe here in Your arms and never leave home
Never let these walls down
But You have called me higher
You have called me deeper
And I will go where You will lead me Lord
You have called me higher
You have called me deeper
And I will go where You will lead me Lord
Where You lead me
I realized that even though I have doubts and fears about what I am doing, God HAS called me to the World Race. And anywhere that the Lord has called me is better than any place that I could ever be on my own. I am so thankful for this opportunity to spread the Gospel and honored that He chose me to be a part of it.
