Reasons to praise You!
Today as I sit with my whole squad and worship we all took time to write out reasons we love to give our Father in heaven glory. I got out my phone and as I looked at my blank page on my notes app God quickly brought to mind a plethora of reasons. Reflecting on the past week an a half of this new month in the Dominican Republic, Lord you have shown me:
– [ ] Your sense of humor, and the random situations You put me in. All I can do is look up and laugh to myself and know you are laughing back.
– [ ] The blessing of your rain, that you shower on us.
– [ ] The promises, you keep over my life and future. (rainbow) (wind)
– [ ] The view that I get to look at everyday
– [ ] My team, which is your bride and when all together forms the church
– [ ] The friendships, you’re cultivating.
– [ ] The earth, in which you made for your children to enjoy.
– [ ] The mountains, that you place before my eyes.
– [ ] The food, you have provided for my stomach.
– [ ] The squad mates, who eat like birds and like to share.
– [ ] The Bible, in which you gave so that I could be rooted in truth.
– [ ] Your voice, to help me decern right from wrong
– [ ] Your sovereignty, though you give free will you still direct my steps
– [ ] The clean water, you provided me to continue to do your work without growing faint.
– [ ] Your wisdom, you like to drop like it’s hot.
– [ ] Your patience, when I fall short of your glory and what your asking of me.
– [ ] The way You pursue. It’s bold and never tires. It never takes what isn’t given, and you wait on us to invite you in.
– [ ] The Father You are, always there with open arms to receive me. That bringing to mind the story of the Prodigal Son.
– [ ] Your discipline. The way you correct your children and raise them up to do what is good in your sight.
– [ ] Your Holy Spirit you sent to dwell inside of each and everyone of your children. That way we could continue to live in communion with you.
– [ ]
I could go on forever but what the Lord has laid on my heart this month is being joyful and thankful in the small moments. This month the whole squad is living together. That being said, my team and I as individuals have had moments where we had to take a step back and be thankful and choose joy. Even when our flesh wants to choose otherwise. So far, all squad month has been a breath of fresh air to be back together as one body and be able to pour into each other. Together we have vision casted and made it a habit to be intentional with teammates as well as squad mates. We have had a healthy amount of “free time” that the Lord has allowed us to be, “spirit led”. I’m so thankful and blessed to have this time to hear testimonies along with praying for people outside the large compound we live on. Overall, I’m thankful to be here serving in the Dominican Republic. God has blessed this heavenly appoint here and I’m honored to see the fruit of the past teams who have stayed at our location.
