Well, there it is. My life packed into 60 L. Not going to lie, it was harder than I though it was going to be. I packed it once, couldn’t fit everything so took some things out, rearranged, and WALA! 37 lbs exactly!

It is crazy to think that in 36 hours I’m going to be flying into Guatemala. The last 10 months have been a crazy journey that have lead me up to this point and it is finally here. It is here. It is here! Every time I think about it, it sinks in a little bit more. A month ago people would ask me if I was nervous and I thought, “nervous? HA! I’m ecstatic!” Today, I have some butterflies. Not enough to make me get on a plane and fly back to Flagstaff, but I’m realizing how long 11 months really is. 11 months ago I didn’t even know what the World Race was! Now here I am leaving for the race… quite a change. But one thing to remember is that just because God told me to go and 10 moths later I’m leaving doesn’t mean that he is going to do the same to you. He may say, “go” and 4 years later you go. This is my journey, yours could look 100% different. However, I am still really excited for the work that God is going to do in and through me; the excitement definitely over powers the nerves.

My first place of ministry is going to be Los Gozosos, an orphanage for disabled children. Here we will be doing various activities such as helping with the children, going to the dump, feeding the poor, construction, and so much more. I’m not sure what each day is going to look like, but I do know that whatever expectations that I have are going to be destroyed. God is going to do what he wants to do and from my experience, God’s plans always trump mine. I do promise to update my blog as often as I can so you know all about the work that God is doing in Guatemala and all over the world.

I would like to say thank you so much to everyone who has helped me get here to this point. The prayer has been a huge help. I know that people have been covering me in prayer every single day and I can honestly say I’ve felt those prayers. They have really helped me in this time of preparation. In order to leave the U.S. I needed to have $6,000 of the $14,300 raised. Today I have over $10,500 raised! THANK YOU so much to all that have helped me. I could not have done it without your help. God has truly provided.
