Ok here we are, month 7

After South Africa we had pretty big expectations about the next few months on the African Continent.

Mozambique didn’t disappoint, but you could say it was a bit rougher than the last month.

We partnered with Elijah, a man with a heart for the orphan, the widow, and the hungry.

Our accommodations: An open field, our tents, bucket showers and an open fire for our kitchen. We were ready to tackle another month on the Race.

Even in the midst of a country broken from recent war, I was able to experience God like never before right there in the rubble.

Mozambique, and Africa in general, isn’t for the faint of heart. It is a battlefield. It’s evident that two kingdoms are at war. Truly the only answer is Jesus in a place filled with such hopelessness.

Our contact attended a church of 6,000 and when the spirit showed up, you knew you were in for a battle. See the thing is, at this church it is not out of the ordinary to see the demonically tortured set free, the sick healed, or the lost found.

The pastor of the church quickly took a liking to us and invited us to come back and lead worship, as well as be a part of their church body. We faithfully returned the following weekend, and with nerves aside, stepped up to worship with the church. God showed up once again. Faithful as always, it was probably one of the most eye opening experiences.

I remember literally opening my eyes for a second and singing: “The enemy has been defeated…we are gonna lift our voice in victory, we are gonna make your praises loud” The whole church was on their feet declaring the goodness of God, jumping up and down. For a moment it was as if Heaven invaded earth, and revival had come.

The enemy was surely at work, though; this was the month we saw more darkness than any other. Several teams, including mine, experienced robbery first-hand. I personally had my phone stolen and money I had taken out for the month. The cool thing is, those are just things, and we weren’t about to let that take our attention away from what God was doing in this amazing country.

Mozi proved to be not only a hard month, but also a great month, quite possibly one of my favorites on the Race so far.

Something about getting out of your comforts even after 6 months on the race, connecting first-hand with your community, being a part of “raw” ministry and living with them on a daily basis changes your perspective on life.

I was able to see a dark place, a random corner of the earth, full of life. I truly believe we are getting closer to seeing every tribe, every tongue and ever nation bow down before the lord.

We are close to seeing the biggest move of God unfold here on earth, as it is in heaven.

His love is marking, transforming, and setting people FREE.

Not so cozy? Maybe.

I’ll say this; it was life changing to say the least.

We are not orphans anymore; we belong to an amazing DAD. He is waiting for you and I to come home. He’s waiting for us to answer THE CALL.

Thanks for reading,
