It has been a while since I have wrote a blog, but I’m going to start writing a blog once a week!

The World Race has finally started, and we had launch in ATL for a couple days before we flew out to the Dominican and launch was super fun. It was the last time that all the gap year squads will be together for a while, so we flew out on September 11 and we had to meet in a room at 5:30 in the morning to go to the airport. That night I stayed up way too late talking with my squad and getting to know some people on other squads, so I didn’t end up going to bed until like 4:00 that morning.

At 5:30 that morning no ones alarm in my room went off so we were woke up by our squad leader knocking on our door and we were late to meeting up with our squad, so that made a weird start to our first travel day. But it was a really fun first travel day, I flew on my first international flight (Which was super bumpy because of the storms) and it was about a 3 1/2 hour flight so it wasn’t too long.

Then we finally made it to the Dominican and met up with our host for the month and loaded up into two busses and had a 7 hour bus ride to where we are living for this month. On this bus ride I saw many amazing sights, I got a taste of how crazy they drive and a taste of their way of living just by looking out of a window of a bus.

Our hosts home for the month is super nice and has an incredible view of the mountains! I am super excited to be here, it still just seems crazy that I’m actually here! When we got to our home for the first month it was around 11 at night and they had dinner for us! The next day was an off day so we could just relax after all the travel and sessions we had a launch, and then we started ministry on Wednesday!

Ministry so far has been many things, we have been in the jungle cutting up banana trees that fell because of the storm, we have been digging ditches because of all the rain we are getting here everyday, Doing prayer walks through the community, and we have been doing things for their ministry that they really need done.

Two days ago me and a couple of people walked up to the local basketball court that they have up here in the mountains and everyone in the community is so nice, and they all say “Americana’s”  (I think thats how you spell it lol) but it was cool to go out into the community to see what it was like!

I have experienced so much just in these past four days, and God is doing amazing things in me and my squad!Once again I just want to thank everyone that donated to get me here, It is so awesome to have that kind of support! I will be writing a blog once a week so please subscribe to keep up with me! Thanks!!!
