Botswana…

I have been living in Africa for roughly about 5 weeks, and I Love the culture, the people, and everything about it. We are living in the Kalahari Desert in a small Village called Kumakwane, and It was a surprise to all of us that we get to live in a village. Its really awesome to be living here, we walk down the road and we hear our names being yelled and the kids run after us and walk with us wherever we are going, its honestly the best feeling ever that kids know me and want to hang out with me.

Our ministry hosts have a Coffee shop/Cafe where they serve American food and have really good coffee, and we get the opportunity to work at the Cafe in the mornings and its super awesome. But our main focus here is the youth aged kids, and the little kids also. We have three events on the Cafe patio every week, we have a worship night on Wednesday’s, we have a youth Bible study on Friday nights, and a Movie night on Saturday nights.

My Favorite part of living in the village is about 10 mins down the road we have a soccer field, and I have been going there almost everyday just because I really enjoy it and also I have a great opportunity to do some discipleship things with the youth aged kids there. So its a win win situation, I get to play and enjoy soccer everyday and I get to share the gospel with them!! You should see these kids though, soccer is their life so they are amazing! I will try to take a video and so I can show you guys, is crazy!

What God has been teaching me….

God has been teaching me about evangelism, and about his mission. The mission of Jesus is revolved around revealing God to people all around the world, no matter what country. When Jesus told his followers “As the Father has sent me, I am sending you” in John 20:21. God is already at work everywhere around the world, in every country, in every state, and in every city/village God is working everywhere around the world and we just need to decide whether we want to join him in this mission of advancing the kingdom and letting god send us. You can do that where you live, do it in the grocery store… It doesn’t matter god just wants us all to join his mission. Jesus sends out the entire church to make disciples, to bring the good news, physical and spiritual. Instead of only asking how we can get people into church, we need to ask ourselves how we can get church to the people. Everyday in Haiti we did S.V.T (Strategic Village Time) and we brought church to the people, we went house to house preaching the news and telling people the price that God paid on the cross, and it meant we can come before god in boldness and know that God desires us, our love, and for us to know him. Just reassuring them that god meets us where we are, and The amazing things that happened through that I will never forget.

We have a neighbor named Alan and his church just got a new building so we went and celebrated at their new sanctuary with worship on Sunday morning. Anyways I met a man there after the service and he came up and was talking about how he was happy to see young missionaries. He said that the first 27 years of his life were wasted until he got saved. But he also told me something that really hit me. He said that before he got saved he was suicidal but no one knew it, and he said that it took one christian woman that he met and she said something to him. She told him “Jesus Loves you” and he was saying that without that woman saying that, he wouldn’t be talking with me today. A phrase so simple, yet it saved someone from killing themself and helped us gain another brother in christ.

The words that you say to someone could literally change their whole life, and help them by just letting them know or even just reassuring them they aren’t alone.

So my question is, are you going to join Gods mission. I challenge you this week to try to share the gospel with One person… just one person and let the holy spirt speak through you….

Thank you for the support you have all given me but I have a fundraising goal coming up really soon that i need your help with, Im only 2,521 dollars away from this goal, please help me get there!!! Thank you!!
