Lying on my bed, listing to that cool, soft African rain fall-I almost woke someone up to pinch me, to tell me it’s real. Overwhelmed, simply overwhelmed with God’s goodness.
I made a promise to myself years ago that the first time I came to Africa would not be for vacation or sightseeing. Thanks to my aunt, I get to have my cake and eat it too. I never would have imagined I’d actually be here, in Kenya, for missions despite wanting to come to Africa so bad but I am! And I never imagined I’d actually be here, in Kenya, and go on a safari but I did!
Yesterday the 7 members of goodness.gracious. went on a little reunion tour. After seeing four of the Big 5, plus many, many more animals, eating delicious food, kissing a giraffe, and riding in a nifty safari van, my favorite moment of the day comes back to the people I was with. When I started the Race, I guess you could say I had the expectations of making friends, of being alongside people and enjoying the ride. But never in a million years would I have imagined I would have found family. That’s exactly what each and every one of them are–family.
