From L to R: Me, Lindsay, Ashley

Let me take you back some time to a place called
Gainesville, GA.  It was there that
I was first introduced to 6 individuals who would become my teammates for 3
months.  goodness.gracious. we
called ourselves.  Who would have
thought, based on my first reaction that I would fall in love with each and
every one of them?  I mean, after
all, I “wasn’t stoked” about a few of the individuals 🙂

Fast forward over a year to a bike path in Illinois.  My dad and I are walking the dog.  I miss a phone call from the one and
only Lindsay Nelson.  I almost cry.

In a little over a year, the Lord transformed my heart to
this amazing individual.  And
really, it didn’t take much.  The
moment I actually got to know
Lindsay, I realized I was blessed.

Yesterday, August 21st. was a really important
day in her life-but really, more important in everyone else’s.  On August 21st we celebrate
the day the Lord brought Lindsay into this world.  With every passing day, month, year of Lindsay’s life, more
and more individuals are blessed to cross paths with this incredible woman of
God.

I truly believe people are sent into our lives.
It’s never a coincidence or chance happening.  It’s always God’s timing and His plan.

Lindsay was sent
into my life and I am a better person for it.

It’s hard to describe Lindsay in words.  And really, I don’t know that I’m up
for that challenge.  Jen already
did a great job of that awhile back.
Instead, I just want to thank God and praise Him for who she is in my
life.  I want to remind myself of
the blessing she is and that God ordained our paths to cross.  If it weren’t for Him, I wouldn’t even
know her.

There are hundreds of people the Lord has sent into your
life, whether for a moment or a lifetime.
How often do you stop and thank Him for these people?  How often do you truly realize God’s hand in these relationships?

I had one of those moments today as I checked my missed
calls, as I listened to my voicemail.
I had one of those moments where I truly remembered how blessed I am.

Lord, I thank you for
sending Lindsay into my life.  I
thank you that we were both able to hear your call and cross paths in such an
incredible way.  I thank you that
you know better than I do and allowed me to be teammates with this incredible
woman of God.  I thank you for the
passion you’ve burned in her heart that has served as an example to so many of
us.  I thank you for the many gifts
and talents you’ve bestowed upon her and that she constantly strives to bring
you glory through them.  I thank
you, Lord, for her wisdom and counsel and the listening ear she extends to all.  I thank you for the compassion she
shows and the heart she has for all of your children.  Lord, I thank you that for the past year of my life, I’ve
been blessed to travel alongside her.  I thank you for allowing me to witness the difference she
makes in others’ lives simply by shining so bright the light that you
give.  I pray Lord God that that
light never dims.  May it shine
ever bright and serve as a source of hope to all who are lost.  May you continue to use Lindsay as your
vessel, oh Lord, and bring her to new and unimaginable heights.  Continue to lavish your anointing upon
her and prepare her for the many wondrous things you want to do through her-this
year and each that follows.  Secure
her identity in you, oh Lord, and help her to see herself as a blessing.

Help us all to
remember, oh Lord, how amazing you are.
Remind us of the many people you’ve sent in our lives and the way our
lives have been shaped because of them.
I pray for more divine appointments for each and every one of us.  May you send us the people we need, oh
Lord, but even more so the people who need us.  Thank you for who you are and the many blessings in our
lives.  We love you and thank you
Lord.
