Dear Family & Friends,
First and foremost I’d like to apologize this is so late. I’ve been slacking a bit with the newsletter. I’m writing to you all from Szekesfehervar, Hungary (say that five times fast) in the upstairs of a church that is currently hosting some of us. I spent the first week or so of my time in Hungary camping at a beautiful, and very active campsite on the other side of town. We saved money by sharing tents so I had the privilege of bunking with 2 of my beautiful sisters, Ashley and Lindsay, for our stay. We are in Hungary with another team, Beautiful Feet, with whom we’ve actually intermingled with to form two new temporary teams for this week. One team is here in this town and the other team of 7 is in Gyor, about an hour or so from here. We’ll rejoin them in a third town on the Hungary/Croatia border in a little over a week. my home for the first week
Ministry here in Hungary is very different than our prior months. Our ministry is actually to find ministry, odd as that sounds. The World Race and Adventures In Missions have never been to Hungary, or the other 5 countries J and K squad teams are in this month. We have been sent on an ATL (Ask the Lord) month to scout out the territory for future World Race teams. This involved establishing contacts, finding where ATMs and grocery stores are, and assessing the spiritual climate of the city, among many other things. This entire month we’re relying solely on where God is leading us and who He’s leading us to. So far, we’ve met some pretty incredible individuals and it’s clear He’s gone before us to prepare the way. It’s really been fun to get to know yet another one of the teams on the squad and to be entrusted by AIM with such an important task as tilling soil for future teams.
As I end this newsletter, I ask that you please keep the following in your prayers:
- For continued unity and growth among goodness.gracious. and Beautiful Feet, that we may act as one entity instead of two teams
- For the people of Hungary who are being hit hard by economic hardship and political corruption, that they may remain faithful and hopeful, turning their eyes upward for strength
- For the health and well-being of all the J and K teams as they work hard to till soil
- For miraculous healing and total recovery for Tara Reed, a World Racer who fell off a 2nd story balcony and broke her pelvis (read the story here and continue to check her blog for updates)
