Obviously I’m not the only one who’s going to be embarking on this great adventure so, I’d like you to meet some of my teammates!!  While all of my teammates seem to be amazing people and I honest to goodness cannot wait to meet them in May, I’m going to choose to introduce you to two of my teammates who have already impacted me in a tremendous way!  These two have already treated me like family and helped me get through an extremely difficult time (the passing of my aunt) through prayer and just looking out for me, asking how I am and how my family is and such.  I can’t thank them enough for what they’ve already done and I can’t wait to get to meet my sisters in Christ in May!!

Without further ado, let me introduce you first to Marissa.  I would definitely recommend you go and read some of Marissa’s blogs and get to know her.  Not only is she an amazing writer and just articulates things in a great way, she touches on issues and fears that are real to so many racers.  One thing I’ve already come to love about Marissa is how honest she is throughout all of this.  She admits she has a fear of adventure; she’s honest about her love of shoes and talks about how hard it is to say goodbye to worldly possessions; and sad as it is, she has a true love for the Chicago Cubs, having even gotten a tattoo of them recently.  In fact, that’s how we started talking….  Maybe I can convert her to like the real Chicago team through our time together, who knows?!  But either way, I would strongly encourage you to check out her page!  She’s encouraging, positive, and I look forward to meeting her in May!!

The second person I’d like to introduce you to has perhaps been the biggest support for me throughout my aunt’s passing.  Though I’ve never met her before, I feel like I’ve known her for years.  Let me introduce you to Nikki.  Nikki and I have quite a bit in common, though only she and I really know that 🙂  I’ve loved getting to know her and hearing about some of her different experiences in life.  She has been a foster mom for the past 5 years and her motherly ways have definitely shone through in the ways she’s looked out for me and really, everyone on our team!  She’s constantly sending us words of encouragement and uplifting us with her positive ideas!  She constantly helps me stay focused on God and His grace and she’s constantly reminding our team that it’s all for His glory.  She’s also the one who wrote this poem.  I know I’ve shared it before but, I’m going to share it again because it’s simply amazing!
It’s not about what I need… It’s all about His love
It’s not about what I want… It’s all about His grace
It’s not about what I’ve done… It’s all about His righteousness
It’s not about what I’m going to do… It’s all about His faithfulness
It’s not about where I’ve been… It’s all about His mercy
It’s not about where I’m going… It’s all about His goodness
It’s not about my strength… It’s all about His power
It’s not about the people I’m going to see… It’s all about His compassion
It’s not about the places I’m going to visit… It’s all about His majesty
It’s not about my dreams…  It’s all about His glory
It’s not about my desires… It’s all about His sovereignty
It’s not about my plans… It’s all about His will
IT’S NOT ABOUT MEIT’S ALL ABOUT HIM!!!

While these two have definitely become among the first to truly welcome me to this team, they are far from the only ones.  If I could, I would write about each and every individual on my team.  Instead, I’d strongly encourage you to visit their pages and check out for yourself who they are.  Read their bios; check out how they were called to the mission field; read their expectations!  Get to know this group that will soon become my family!
