June Newsletter

I pray this letter finds you in good health and happiness within your heart!  I am excited to write you this letter and update you on the many ways in which God has been blessing me in the past month!  As you may have heard by now, the very end of May brought me to Georgia (the state, not the country) for 10 days of training camp.  Those 10 days were among the greatest I’ve ever experienced!  I was able to meet TONS of new people, establish relationships that will get me through the next year, and learn more about myself.  I had the opportunity to explore the depths of who I am and what God wants from me and let me just say, I’m excited all the more for this adventure ahead of me.

 

One of the coolest parts of training camp was finally being introduced to our teams for the next year.  After much prayer and deliberation, the AIM staff was able to place us into some amazing teams and I think they did a phenomenal job with it.  My team hails from all over the U.S. and from all walks of life, yet we have a bond you can’t break.  We’ve already connected in a way that I see will give us all strength while out on the field.  These will be the people I laugh with; these will be the people I cry with.  I am proud to call them my family for the next year and I’m confident it won’t end there.  I’d encourage you to read up a bit about my team and some of the people on it on my blog dainanorusis.theworldrace.org.  I provide links on the left side for each of my teammates and I have also written a blog about my team.  Get to know them-you won’t regret it!!

 

With camp having past, my main concern for the remainder of the summer is fundraising.  I still have quite a bit that needs to be raised as far as funds are concerned and I could really use some help getting there.  If you know of any creative fundraising ideas, please let me know!  Right now, I’m selling tshirts customized with the August 2009 race route ($15) and looking into a few other fundraising ideas.  Also, if you could spread the word about my missions, that would be great!  You never know who God may be calling to support me in this endeavor.  You can always just direct people to my blog and let me do the rest 🙂

 

I thank you all for your prayerful and financial support.  Really, without you, I wouldn’t have even made it this far.  So from the bottom of my heart, thank you!
