At our training camp, us World Racers were introduced to the concept of grieving. Because of that, it’s not uncommon to hear one of us say, “I need to grieve (fill in the blank).” Well, perhaps one of the biggest things I have needed to grieve going into this Race is the fact that I am going to miss the wedding of one of my bestest friends (and yes, I did just say bestest). Today helped. God provided me with an opportunity to be a part of the wedding, despite my being overseas that day. How’s this, you may be wondering. I got to take engagement pictures! I’ve never taken engagement pictures or really, any sort of important pictures before so I was a bit nervous going into this. I wanted this to just be complete and total perfection. Colleen and Gregg are one of the most beautiful couples I have ever met and I wanted to provide them with something they’d be able to enjoy and remember for a lifetime. I did my research, made sure I had all my gear together, and really prayed about this because they deserved nothing but the best. Anyway, today I made my trek out to Valparaiso to take my pictures of the beautiful couple and I must say, I am quite pleased. Not only did I enjoy my time with the two of them, but I feel like we got some good pictures accomplished. After about 3 hours, roughly 600 pictures, 1 lost wallet, and a whole lot of loving, these are some of the pictures I came up with. (Sorry but only they get access to the rest)

Colleen and Gregg, I hope you realize how truly honored I was to take these for you and how much simply taking them has helped with the reality I won’t be there with you on your special day. I think the two of you are beyond perfect for each other and I honestly couldn’t think of a better match. I am confident that your marriage will be Christ-centered and a true testament of how faith and love should intersect within a relationship. I know you guys have inspired me and I can’t thank you enough for being a true, living example of love in this world. Best wishes in your engagement and marriage and expect to see me at your new place when I get back 🙂
