August 5, 2009
Dear Family & Friends,
As I sit here and write this, I have a hard time believing what’s ahead of me in 6 short days.  In 6 short days, I will board a plan to Ireland and officially begin the World Race.  It’s so surreal.

I wanted to fill you in on just the blessings I’ve received over this past month.  For starters, I am fully funded.  This is a bit jumping the gun because it hasn’t all been posted to my account yet, but after doing careful calculations, I know the money is all there or on it’s way there and well, that’s just exciting!  I am SO blessed and thankful to all of you who have so generously given of your abundance or even sacrificed to send me-it is greatly appreciated and I cannot wait to go serve the Lord on your behalf.

As the weeks turned into days, I’ve found myself with quite a bit to do and many people to see.  I’ve been lucky enough to get to meet up with some amazing individuals and blessed to have even had a surprise going away party tossed for me last night.  God has definitely blessed me with an amazing group of family and friends, that’s for sure!  I still have much that needs to be done in terms of packing but as far as I can tell (though I probably won’t realize it until Thursday night…), I have everything I need.  Things have been coming together smoothly and it’s just so good!

The last piece of information I wanted to share with you is actually quite exciting.  Yesterday we received some tentative ministry contacts and information about what this next month in Ireland is going to entail for us.  God willing, my next month is going to be spent in Coleraine, which is actually in Northern Ireland.  While here, we will be working with Causeway Coast Vineyard Church doing a plethora of things anywhere from helping with healing ministries to having coffee & tea with the community with programs such as the Verve.  We may be working with kids ministry, family ministry, young adult ministry-the opportunities are endless.  We’ll be staying on location in Coleraine, on the banks of the River Bann, working with 3 of the other K squad teams.  While this is all still tentative and completely and totally in God’s hands, it does make my heart skip a beat or two to know that I may be spending my next month chilling in the same down as St. Patrick’s Church.

As I end this newsletter, I ask that you please keep the following in your prayers:
  • For the August 2009 World Racers, may the Lord strengthen us and prepare us for this life changing journey ahead
  • For the people of Coleraine and Causeway Coast Vineyard, that God may open their hearts and prepare them for what He will do through us Racers.
  • For the other ministries and people World Racers will encounter throughout their time in Ireland, may God soften their hearts to hear His message of love
  • For families and friends back home, may God hold them close to His heart and assure them daily of His protection over us, as well as the work He’s doing through us

God bless!!!
