I’m going to be honest with you for a moment. Fundraising is frustrating…and hard. But as frustrating as it is for me, I have money coming in…somewhere that is. I have money floating around out there and making it’s way into my account. I am NOT here to ask you to donate to me.
I’m asking you to put aside all selfish pride, put aside those wants for a bit, put aside that mentality that this is your money to deal with. I’m asking that you put everything aside and do your part to help the will of God be put in action. What I’m talking about here is looking deep inside and seeing what you have to offer to support the Jowers. Who are the Jowers? I’m glad you asked. Check it out for yourself on their blog, read about their need for yourself from their mouths. As a young, married couple, I can assure you there are many other paths this couple could be heading down. To be willing to sacrifice their privacy, their safety, their home-to sacrifice it all to pursue God’s will-that is truly selfless and beautiful. Leslie and Chad are not doing this because it’s what they want to do-they are following the call of the Lord the whole way. And they will continue to follow that call, regardless of hardship and strife. With only 20 days until we board that plane, it’s appropriate to say, it’s crunch time. Money needs to be in that account. I don’t care if you’ve never met the Jowers or if you’ve known them for years, the fact still remains the same. It is our duty, as Christians, to be the hands and feet of Christ in this world. We are all called to do that in different ways. Leslie and Chad are called to physically go out into the world. They are called to hold the orphans, comfort the dying, bring about change in each life they meet. YOUR call is to help them get there. They simply cannot get there without your support. Please, be obedient to the Lord. Answer your call. Support the Jowers.
Leslie was probably the first person I met at camp, as we were lucky enough to be partners for the first activity. As we together laid down our expectations about teammates, the route, God-and nearly lit the forest on fire in the process!-I met someone who was so on fire for the Lord and was about as genuine as they come. I know deep down both Leslie and Chad are trusting God entirely with this trip-funds and all, as difficult as that may be. I also know, however, that oftentimes the answers to our prayers lies within ourselves. So, I leave you with a simple quote, “Don’t ask God to feed the hungry, if you have plenty to eat.” Are you God’s answer to this prayer? The prayer that will help them live out God’s will? Please, be obedient to the Lord. Answer your call. Support the Jowers.
